Bottle is in great shape, not corked like the last one. Soft red fruit in front of an herb + earth core and finishing with medium acidity. Tannins are pillow soft, fully integrated. Personality is gentle but with subtle electricity, a good contrast with some of the Copains we've had from Anderson Valley which are often crunchy and bold. I like those, and, this is something else entirely... delicious!

By the bottle at Atrium in Brooklyn. Nose is ripe and full, definitely new world but not oaky or fat; ripe blackberries, dark cherry, dusty earth. Palate is smooth and rich but not over the top, notes of sage, rosemary, blackberry liquer, super delicious. Great finish, perfect with roast chicken. LIOCO is killing it.

This was gifted and opened at a dinner party, so I didn't take formal notes. But from memory this was drinking really well -- elegant and well balanced, and a wonderful pairing with mushroom galette. Exactly what I look for in Lioco.
I'd bought a couple of these as a "mystery" offer at $20 and it is a solid value. This last bottle drank very well, nice ripe Pinot fruit. There were some harsh notes that poked in a couple of times, but barely noticeable. No notes, but it was a solid bottle on the riper side, but with some cool tones, too - certainly no heat or heavy extraction or gloppy texture. 13.4% abv

Totally different wine from last note... Completely clean (no VA), generous ripe fruit loaded with complex secondary accents. Solid balance, easy, nothing out of place.

From day two. Dark red translucent color. Warm berry pie aromas. Ripe cherry, strawberry flavors with a nice acidic zip. Medium body with pleasant lengthy finish.

at tasting room. Nose floral with hint of soy. Palate fruity fleshy fruit, good tartness towards finish. Enjoyable but did wish for an extra gear. 90 pts

Really enjoyable bottle. my second bottle of a case and has really improved since bottle #1 consumed three months ago. Agree with bullmrkt's tasting note of 10/20/17 "it really filled out and put on some weight with juicy fruit, mid-palate body, spice, rhubarb, cola, and fresh, balanced acidity."

I say this on bottle number 10 of a case, but this wine greatly benefited from breathing overnight. My wife opened and had a glass and a half, recork but did not use any preservative gas. The fruit was much rounder and a shade darker than it drinks as a pop and pour.

Wow this bottle is a massive improvement over my first two—it really filled out and put on some weight with juicy fruit, mid-palate body, spice, rhubarb, cola, and fresh, balanced acidity. It’s difficult to attribute the difference to bottle variation or the additional year of age, but I’m guessing it’s age and development. Drinking well!

As a PnP this is a bit tart and pushed forward with slightly green tannins but with some airtime you get the lithe fruit and garrique balance one expects of SC. Great QPR. Better with some fatty snacks, probably owing to acidity.

I agree with elements of many of the reviews above. This is a good value wine and doesn't overwhelm in any one area. I do like that it's not on the sweeter side like some Ca pinots.

Nice Pinot with an interesting first taste on the palate. First impression is a slight effervescence, which is an odd sensation from a red, but I've had the same thing now in 2 different bottles. After that a smooth drinking pinot that is a pleasant pop and pour.

I'm going to give the other couple bottles a year or so even though I'm not sure this is going to develop much further. Liked this on PnP and over a couple hours. Nice combination of ripe fruit and transparency, towards elegance, but fairly one-dimensional. An easy wine to enjoy with food, a touch of bramble. Not memorable, but solid.

I must disagree with these notes. To me its a very lithe but pure and very bright and lovely wine. The fruit is just starting to emerge from the structure and this wine will really sing starting in a year or 2 and have a great few years of drinking after that.

Deep rose petal red. Floral spice nose shows clove, orange, and cherry. Relatively light and airy and pretty straightforward. Pleasant and refined, but somewhat short.

Black fruit, dense core with forest floor, unfortunately this bottle was very badly corked.

A bit of VA was the first impression; thankfully not overwhelming. Fairly linear and subtle; mineral oriented pinot. Give it some air I'd say.

Great cooler weather elegant interpretation of Pinot. Love the layered fruit flavors, although all are delicate. Guessing Pommard clones.
