  • Stored at 55 degrees since release. Excellent cork, Popped/poured. 13.8% alcohol. Slight funk on the nose attended by dried berry scents. Deep ruby red w/some edge bricking. Medium body with initial attack of sweet cherry fruit followed by nice midpalate ending in a dry, satisfying resonant finish. This has aged quite well.

  • Last bottle and still singing, if not as vibrant as in years past.

  • BLACK CHERRIES, BLACKBERRIES, AND CHOCOLATE IN THE NOSE WITH CURRANTS AND BLACK CHERRIES IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

  • Aroma that is saturated ruby-red, bitter cherry, blackberry, espresso and baking spices. Great density and an impressive acidity on the back end. The finish is moderate, and overall the depth and complexity is remarkable.

  • Dried out cork, had to re-extract with care. The aroma was effusive, lots of dark fruit and raisin notes. The taste is a burst of great fruit balanced well with a still stiff tannin back-end. Age has affected the finish, no doubt, but the what remains after these years is still quite good. Good, structured, bold, and aromatic offering that still does not disappoint.

  • I cant really imagine age has done much for this wine. The fruit seems very raisiny at this point and the wine seems to be missing something in the mid palate. Not bad but the $15 La Bernadotte 2000 which we had earlier in the evening was significantly better.(granted its only 40% Merlot).

  • Drank my last bottle with neighbors on Halloween. This wine was still big, rich and powerful but had aged to a very enjoyable state. It had a fair amount of cloudiness or sediment in the bottom of the bottle (I did not decant but should have). I don't envision this wine getting better with further aging but it may evole into something interesting int he way of an "old" wine as it doesn't seem at risk. to my taste this is exactly the way I like my Andrew Will wines.

  • Dark red in color. Attractive nose of black fruits and spice, and a solid palate to match. Structured with a medium finish.

  • This was a quick after dinner taste at the generous neighbor's house - it had been open all afternoon. The nose showed cedar and red fruits along with licorice. Big and deep on the palate with more of the same red fruit and licorice. This wine has good acidity and is still quite tannic but not as strong as previous posters had indicated. Very good to outstanding.

  • Decent. I'm a bit stuffed up and that might have a small effect here. I don't get much of a nose, but my taste doesn't seem to be effected (i.e. the air is still flowing up to that nasal cavity).

Nice, lush, dark fruit core. Still quite tannic. The finish is quite sweet and to me this tastes a bit overripe.

I still enjoy it, though - better than I had expected.

  • Licorice and black fruit on the nose with a hint of menthol. The palate attacks with an initial burst of juicy, red fruit before those Klipsun tannins slam down. Soon after popping it this was showing some typical Merlot notes with chocolate covered cherries, but with more air this is actually clamping down and showing a strong, tannic finish with dark, slightly astringent flavors. That said, there is nice freshness and acidity here, and it's a good drink already. I like it for its youthful grip, but as to be expected perhaps more time is needed to tame those Klipsun tannins?

  • A deep, dark Merlot. It was full of blackberry fruit, clove, licorice and spice. The initial feel on the palate was powerful and it had a long finish. It was a little tannic initially coming out of the bottle (no decanting) but opened up very nicely after 15 minutes. It was consumed at dinner side by side with a 2000 Leonetti Merlot and compared favorably. This wine appeared to have plenty of life left.
