I agree with pretty much everything in the review below me, aside from the fact that my bottle showed a more effusive bouquet which was quite lovely. This is a nice bottle of wine, not quite up to the 2014, but very enjoyable. This one’s ready to go and I wouldn’t hold it more than two or three more years in order to enjoy it at peak.
Opened for a virtual tasting about 35 minutes before the event and it took at least that long for the nose to appear. I decided to decant to speed up the process. There was some sediment at the bottom of the bottle but it was easily removed and didn't seem to affect the wine. Purple color; dark berries and plum on the nose: some menthol, raspberry and berry fruit on the palate; some tartness on the finish. I did not notice the 14.9 alcohol. I'm glad to have another bottle which we will serve with food. I believe this blend is 54% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec and 7% Cabernet Franc.

Day 1: Spice, coffee beans, cherry, blueberries, menthol and mild oak. Concentrated effort and tastes like a $100 bottle from Napa. Excellent value. 92 points Day 2: Spice, coffee beans, cherry cola, menthol, mild oak and more acidic. I liked this bottle better on day 1. 90 points

Day 1: Decanted a half hour and poured the rest back in the bottle. Earth, blueberries, cherry, menthol and spice. Classic Davenport Continuity. Medium finish. 91 points Day 2: Drink very similar to day 1 and solid with balance of fruits/earth elements. 91 points Recommendation: At $15.00 a bottle not much out there that is better.

Davenport Cellars Wines; 12/30/2019-10/9/2020 (Minneapolis, MN): Day 1: Some sediment so decant. Dark purple. Blueberries, boysenberries and ripe plum. Wonderful palate featuring smoke brisket, earth, menthol, raspberries and dark fruit. A concentrated effort and a real steal of a deal at $15.00 a bottle on the Davenport Cellars Spring Sale. 92 points Day 2: Not nearly as good as day 1. A bit hot with blueberries, spices, earth and dried herbs. Medium finish. Hopefully this comes around later today. 87 points Day 3: Much better on day 3. Blueberries, menthol, ripe plums, spice and smoke brisket. Medium plus finish. Plenty of life here. 91 points Recommendation: Drink this now. I liked day 1 better than day 3.

This is more fun drink than the 2008. More fruit and life left, but with some savory/secondary character that keeps it interesting. Nice bordeaux blend. 90.

Davenport Cellars Wines; 12/30/2019-10/9/2020 (Minneapolis, MN): Day 1: Purchased this on the 65% off sale. Very solid wine and plenty of life left here. Mineral driven along with cherry, blueberries and floral notes. A very balanced effort and medium plus finish. Really get some nice iron notes on the finish. This should evolve over the next 8 plus years. Very good. 91 points Day 2: Better than day 1 and more concentration featuring spices, floral, blueberries, cherry, minerals and oak. Very complex wine and long finish. A serious wine and for the deal we got on this a candidate for top wine of the year under $30.00. 92+ points

Fantastic. Acidity is strong, tannins still holding on, flavor intensity is crazy solid upon opening. Wish I had more to hold onto! Old world style.

Another strong showing of this wine. Davenport is the best discovery for me in the last five years.
