  • Delicious. Clear, deep ruby in the glass, quick forming long tears, nose has medium intensity with red and black fruits, mixed berries and cherry, palate is dry and velvety, fruits are expressive and ripe, cherry, plum, cassis, boysenberry jam, notes of cacao, vanilla, sweet spice leading to a long lingering farewell. Very good quality juice. Seems to be drinking at or near peak best over the next year or so. An example of a world class Greek red wine that shows it is good to expand your wine horizons.

  • Deep ruby in color featuring aromas of damson plum and black cherry decorated by charming floral notes, vanilla and milk chocolate. Ripe with rounded tannins, velvety texture and a long, refreshing finish.

  • Very authentic and delicious Greek lunch at Bakalaki. Ordered a bottle off the strictly Greek wines only wine list. Drank over 1.5 hours.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with fruity aromas of boysenberries, dark red cherries, black cherries, blackberries, macerated stewed berry compote, some stony earth minerality. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), very soft supple medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of boysenberries, black cherries, blackberries, warm spices, very slight sweet chocolate oak. Long finish.
Very good quality. Polished, fruity, friendly and very approachable. Like an amiable Bro dude at a party. Lacks layers of complexity. So velvety soft. Seems to me that it is for drinking now and over the next 3+ years. Doesn't give me the impression it is for ageing.

  • I think this is one of the best greek wines, one of the best Mavrotragano, and surely one of the very good international wines. The color is a beautiful dark red with long legs on the glass. The taste opens up with time and combines sweet fruity with some acid/salty notes. Amazing. Similarly the taste fills your mouth with rasperry and cherry notes, a hint of the salty mediterranean air and light oak taste. The finish is smooth and medium to long with beautiful fine tannins. Truely one of the very good red wines of the world and a insider tip with great value.
