Fruit forward for N. Rhône with plum, cherry and blackberry. Also savory with olive and herbal notes. Fresh, racy acidity balances the big flavors well.

The nose is an intriguing combination of savory (hickory, bacon, sage, desert brush) and fruit (cherry, plum, pomegranate). Nearly full bodied, the acid is juicy and moderators the densely grained gritty tannin, which has barely started to resolve. It’s structurally pleasant but I think will hit a more elegant stride texturally in five years. Flavors include cherry, red and black plums, smoked soy sauce umami, sautéed sage, and dried seaweed. I wouldn’t blame anyone for putting bottles of these down now, but we’re going to sit on our second bottle for five years to see if the structure smooths out and elongates.

Yummy stuff - vibrant and open with black raspberry flavor predominating with a bit of tart cherry fading to a lovely minerality. Medium-minus acidity still carries a lovely finish. Quite nice.

Drinking perfectly. Opened 1 hour, no decant needed. Great darker red and black fruit, bit of mineral, leather, plum. Balanced, moderate long, deceptive graceful richness.

Interesting, atypical Northern Rhône. Deep purple color, offers plum, black currant, cedar, new leather, clove. Silky texture, juicy red and black fruit with echoes of cedar on the palate. Medium-bodied, slightly lean, with polished tannins. Not what I was expecting, but quite nice for what it is.

Mûres framboises réglisse anis , ample, fin et long. Très satisfaisant. Tellement bon je ne ferai pas vieillir les autres bouteilles..

This is the antithesis of big, ripe Cosme wines from the Southern Rhone (which I also love). Juicy acidity throughout, and the fruit is almost secondary with light notes of black raspberry framed by classic notes of white pepper. Gets pleasantly funky on the nose with air time, and while not meaty on the palate per se, a nice sanguine note starts to emerge. A classy expression of St. Joseph.

Lean raspberry and blackberry, sleek and balanced, with nice structure, medium tannins, and a hint of oak. A young N. Rhone with its best years ahead, drinking with character at 5 years. Good QPR.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis) and plum. It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), oak and vanilla. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Lovely Northern Rhône, blackberries and raspberries on the nose rich blackberry flavour, good depth and soft tannins. Drinking beautifully now, still primary but really enjoyable and great value

Texture soyeuse, longueur satisfaisante. Chaudement recommandé. Peut encore s'améliorer les 5-6 prochaines années. ****

Inky dark, lovely glaceed dark fruit upon opening at a cool cellar temp - did get a bit more heavy and "hot" when it warmed up a bit too much in a stuffy (but good) restaurant

Disclaimer: Do not pop and pour this. It needs to breathe for several hours.
Without air: wholly underwhelming. With air: saline, meaty, and umami-laden. Very, very young. It needs two or three years to unwind and reveal its substance. Likely to improve. Excellent! 91-92.

Nez marqué par la réduction. Fruit un peu en retrait, bonne acidité, tannins. Gagne en précision et en finesse à l'aération. Bon vin pour le prix. 90+

St Joseph, not as nice as the Crozes Hermitage. 2015 St Joseph was better than the 2013
