Rich and powerful yet serene and balanced in the mouth, long finish that never ends, thankfully. Energetic, fine bubbles. Krug clos du mesnil 1990, one that actually showed well versus 3 that showed tired and lack-bubble, comes close. My suspicion is that Krug tend to trade hands like DRC and opening a good bottle is less than even chance. Selosse's secondary market trading has just started with recent meteoric rise in price so I'd say drink the bottles that are available now. Can age further but it's hard to imagine a bottle that drinks better than this.
Very much in the bread, oxidative and ripe style that I don't particularly favor yet really well executed with fine bubbles, tension and remarkable length.

24-Hour Tampa Blitzkrieg; 2/27/2016-2/28/2016: Supremely fresh. Egg whites. Probably the driest champagne ever tasted. Sulphur. Mousse is unreal: light and airy with fine effervescence throughout. Something quite musty hanging in the background. Almost as strong as the '85 Clos de Mesnil opened alongside. Truly special.

Disgorged 2014 April. Wonderful floral nose, nutty and intense. We think that this bottle can't really open up fully, but it has a wonderful layers and finesse. Drinking like a fine Grand Cru Burgundy.

Ex Domaine, disgorged a year ago. Unyielding for the first few hours, still very fresh and citrusy. When warmed up then it started to sing, citrusy nose with stone fruit, fine bubbles with excellent mid-palate energy and depth, very long finish. Still youthful and better keep for a few years before opening, fresh and not oxidative. A wow wine.

On the nose it has beautiful mature notes of marcipan, walnuts, toffee apples, chestnut honey and touch of Selosse textbook perfume notes, but fairly mild. Actually it's the classiest of his wines I have tasted On palate is very fresh, actually one of the freshes 1990 Champagnes that I have tried. But behind freshness and minerality where are lots of 1990 vintage rich and broad flavours. Incredible length. Needs lots of time to open up. 1/5 of the bottle left for next day was even better. Eternal wine!

Big nose , starting to mature. Wood, fat lanolin (oxidation) , cream, chocolate, shellfish/oyster shells, ripe apples, citrus and pomerance. Very rich, long, fat but completely dry taste with nice acid, loads of minerals/chalk, apples, citrus etc...Needs air and room temperature.

Systembolaget Superpremium (Vinkällarbolaget): Deep, yellow color with almost oily viscosity. Mature, full nose with lots of bread, yeast, hazelnut, peach, and yellow apple. Mousse is big, round, filling - a bit too fluffy for my taste but unquestionably a great Blanc de Blancs.

Nice light golden color. Delicate but persistant mousse. The nose is great with butter, breadcrumps and a good vibrant freshness. The mouthfeel is even better - it's fat, and the well-defined mousse and fatness plays together in perfect harmony. Honey with an assortment of spices and herbs. All backed by a good backbone of acid making this not only very pleasing, but also perfect with food. 96

Medium yellow in appearance. Notes of lemon peel, and perhaps slihtly rotten banana peel. Somewhat simple in structure, but nicely harmonious and flavourful on notes of popcicle and green apples. The finish turned a hair sour, but the overall impression was a good one.

Very expensive but this is worth the money. Deep golden color with a long, Sauternes like finish. This is amazing

Christie's Wine Dinner: A Journey Through the Vinkällare of Staffan Hansson (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Served alongside the 1988. More concentration than the older vintage, but still with enough structure and great balance. Very ripe fruit and great weight and power. Also bready and slightly oxidative, but very enjoyable indeed.
