Brought to friend's house for Thanksgiving...medium to dark garnet with little sign of age. Nose has some oak initially along with jammy black fruit and some milk chocolate. On the palate you get both some raspberry and blackberry, along with black cherry and some spicy pepper elements. easy drinking and nicely textured. Very good with Turkey and Roasted Pork both.

Moderate to dark Crimson. Nice fruity and spices nose with vanilla, black fruit jam and a touch of spice. Smooth mouth feel with a touch of acidity/tannin. Just a slight hint of alcohol. Old school fruity zin with great balance. Not remarkable but solid and great with food.

Very nice nose of plum jam, modest alcohol forward fruit. Cherry, plum and boysenberry on the palate with a very soft glycerine mouth feel. It went very well with pork roast, and braised short ribs equally well. Pretty much coming into its own, it will last a while longer but is drinking well now. Stood up to wines costimg 2-3 times as much including a 1988 Rhone.

Good, but not very good; full bodied with a somewhat flat finish; some complexity, but not much; if there was ever any fruit in this bottle, it's gone now; underwhelming if you are expecting a wine experience when tasting.

Excellent, extremely balanced and complex - It was dark purple, concentrated with plum, berries and oak on the nose, it was very smooth on the palate, with a long finish, another great Ridge offering (90 Points).

Took a bit to open up strangely, and got better with each glass - It was medium-dark purple, with very fruit forward nose with a touch of oak, it had a bit of a burn on the palate with a short finish (87 Points).

WLTV North Jersey Off-Line at Basilicos: I found the nose kind of awkward. The one scent that was clear though was sugar plums. The taste was far superior to the nose with prunes, cherries, and oak. Not bad for a $15 wine -- but the nose turned me off.

Aromas of blackberry and cassis. Fruit forward, jammy flavours with a long finish. The alcohol is definitely present, at 14.3%, but it's not overpowering. Love this wine!

Not going to get too fussy - very nice fruit, decent balance for a medium-bodied wine. Needs more finish and aroma to get into the 90's. Still it's a BUY.

I think I had an off bottle. All I got was a whopping dose of oak. Where's the strong Ridge fruit? Definitely unlike the last bottle I had over the summer. Soemthing wasn't right with this one.

This was pretty powerful on day 1, but enjoyable with a good mix of fruit/acid/tannin. day 2 was lovely and smooth so I will pick up a couple and stash them for a year.

Good plum, raspberry, and sweet vanilla oak. Fine richness, superb with semi-sweet bbq'ed meats. After 2 hours, a bit of bell pepper comes through--drink over the next 2-3 years. Fine when on sale.

Deep ruby color, nice fruity nose - very rich California zin blend type wine. I tasted some off metallic flavors, but they didn't linger to the finish. On day two, the wine seems to soften and was more enjoyable.

Bright candied fruit on the nose of cherry and prune were nice, but blew off after about a half hour of sitting in the glass. The taste was high in acid, bitter and a bit tannic. Earthy and bell pepper flavors overpowered the fruit. This wine may need some time.

Nice, but not as fruit driven or chewy as I expected. alcoholic without as much spice as other zins. clean short finish. The next day, however, the fruit really opened up to come into better balance with the alcohol. got the chewy zin character I was originally wanting. much better.

Strong, zin nose of dark fruits. This isn't incredibly complex, but is really nice, balanced, and complete wine. Really nice with grilled butterflied leg of lamb.

Ridge is one of the best, and certainly the most consistent producer of zins in the world. This was a ccomplete wine full of fruit, chocolate, tar and tannins.

Full forward wine with great balance between the spice of the zinfandel and the darker elements of the carignan, petite syrah and mourvedre. It is jammy with hints of currants, berries, cassis, licorice and oak. A slight alcoholic finish, it is definitely less spicy than typical zins. Overall very enjoyable. Drank with veal sholder "cacciatore."
