Drink now with almost any meal. Good taste and structure. Easy drinker. Sweet spot for this Carignane-dominant blend: the Zinfandel adds softness, dimension.

On the nose, it has a bright cranberry aroma with hints of herbal spice and a dustiness that adds depth and complexity. On the palate, the wine has a medium plus acidity, and a medium alcohol level that adds some warmth. The tannins are medium minus, providing a subtle grip and structure without overwhelming the flavors. The wine has a crash of fresh berries and a juicy, fruity flavor, with a hint of rustiness adding some complexity. It is easy to drink, with a medium body and a short finish.

Violet hue and raspberry aroma overall a bit less heft than I hoped It drank well with food Compared to other similar Ridges Manzoni ir Demostene this was a distant third

Nose: plum, orange peel, and almonds Palate: tangy cranberry and black pepper Tasted with: filet mignon sandwich from Flemings Overall: disclaimer that I struggle with Ridge carignane wines because I generally think they are too tart and can be polarizing. This one is a little less tart and was much better with heavier food. I prefer it coler than cellar temperature. Consensus at my house: 87 points

This was a love affair that lasted 24 hrs, but not 48 hrs. The first whiff and sip, showed alarmingly bright and light sour cherry fruit, not a fruit "flavor" or essence, but the actual fruit juice. I returned to the physical bottle to inspect the label, because I had mistakenly thought it zinfandel (of which it is 20%), but found it to be 80% carignane. Different game (duh). Very punchy and crunchy juice that drives into the gums and sticks around. Beautiful! Second half in a corked bottle on the counter 24 hrs later was still powerful and slightly more rounded and polished. Delicious again, but I can't say it improved. Last 2 oz at 48 hrs came across as pickled blueberries, as one might expect.

Drank too early. Needs 2-3 years in the bottle
