Medium ruby in color with some red fruit and briary nose. Nicely balanced with some fruit and pepper notes. A medium finish without much wood but still very pleasant. I agree with the "drinkable window" but f you have one likely still drinkable

Medium red color, some transparency. Aromas of berry pie, currant, sweet plum, vanilla, and red earth. Flavors or cherry pie, blackberry, currant, plum, vanilla, and smoke. Medium finish. This is drinking in prime form and has good density, depth, and balance right now. Drink.

Had with roast chicken. Served blind, very dark in the glass. I didn't guess Zin, but syrah. About a third Carignane, so maybe that colored the wine in more ways that one. Rich and good fruit and acidity. Not over the top at all, not pruney. Actually very nice. I think this was probably one of my last ATP shipments.

This wine is clearly flawed by overripe and/or pruned fruit which give a nasty, oxidized nose and cooked fruit flavor through out the profile. Ridge had a pretty hard time in the early 2000's by my estimation, overripe fruit, capitalization issues, semi-retirement of Paul Draper...and this wine demonstrates how bad it got. My conclusion is that this was NOT oxidized during shipment (direct to me from Ridge) or in storage (never above 65F, mostly 60 or below) and the fact that the wine is still a deep red with no obvious browning oxidation around the edges. Clearly something other than post bottling oxidation is the cause of the nasty oxidation overwhelming the nose and palate. Some cherry/berry fruit emerges from around the oxidation and the nose also has some woodsy notes. This wine still sucked after three days of vacuvin refrigeration.

Nose of violet and berries. Mild tannins with typical Ridge profille of berry. Okay but not spectacular. Another so so Zin from Ridge. What happened to them?

A very dark maroon color. On the nose there was blackberries, raspberries, and a hint of leather. Medium body soft tannins and good acidity. On the palate the blackberries and raspberries were very sweet and alive. Nice finish that lasts a for a long time with sweet fruit and a hit of spicy oak. A very good wine as is and I don't think it will improve much with cellar time.

Jammy blackberry nose flush with barrel spices. Pallette is grapey, moderate, chalky tannins, a bit hot. Short finish. Very simple, not my favorite ATP selection.

Exotic oak and brambly zin fruit with a note of eucalyptus in the background. In the mouth black fruits balanced around a core of acidity - this balance, for me, is really becoming the trademark of the vintage for this area. Tastes good today but no reason to drink up. Drank with chicken and apple sausage and grilled peppers with deglazing of balsamic vinegar over mashed potatoes.

Tasted blind. This seemed to be over the hill with caramel and VA on the nose. The palate had a hint of fruit, but that's about it.

Good fruit. Held up well to a spicy meat pizza.

Still rough around the edges after 10 yrs, big a tad clumsy. Oakey grapey but disjointed. Not sure this is ever coming together.....

Must be late picked - sweet and over the top.
