Punches way above its price point. This deserves a hats off in winemaking. I always knew he was a great producer but much of his wines have become out of my reach recently, its great to see he makes such wonderful Regional wines. Firing from the get go and every glass was tremendous. Highly recommend for drinking by yourself or sharing with 1 person to see the magic.

Like this but it’s more about potential than current enjoyment. Nice clean fruit and good astringent structure. Concentration and length good for a bourgogne. Try again 2025. 3.5

This is improving with age - have case and second bottle better than first. Classic burgundy Pinot - clean fruit and full flavours , all perfectly balanced. Also without the hollow centre that some generic Bourgogne Rouge has. Lovely

First of a case. Nothing wrong but not good enough for the price (and I bought EP which is way cheaper than retail) . Good red fruits, minerality and tannin and so should age well so maybe too young. But for now lacking the earthy kick you get from quality Pinot, and to my taste not as good as generic burg from other fashionable names like Cathiard etc. let’s see

Dark red. Dark red raspberry to blackberry nose. Now open for 4 hours this has ample concentration and impressive fruit. The finish is clipped and the structure is obvious. For its appellation it is very good. Solid enough for several more years.

This was fine for a Bourgogne but WOW was it stemmy. Green and resinous! As stemmy as any burg I've ever had. As extreme in its own way as Mollydooker was in its.

Popped and poured. Medium bodied, juicy, generous and round. Raspberry, a little black cherry and coffee. Very enjoyable. Still has lots of substance and should age for 5 plus years.

Two hour decant. Cranberry, graphite, and white pepper on a complex nose. Very soft tannins lead M+ acidity. Juicy red fruit front of palate quickly yields to mineral and damp earth notes on a medium finish. Excellent.

Slow ox one hour. Pretty, forward nose of raspberry and spice. The wine is medium bodied, a little carbonic, energetic with flavours of raspberry, black cherry, earth and spice. This has fantastic potential and should be able to age for 5-8 years

A blend of grapes from Fixin to Nuits, they buy some grapes so this label is "Jean-Marie Fourrier".
Dark red and has been open for 24 hours. Strawberry, spice cake nose. Dark berry fruit flavours in good concentration. Medium body, the structure is obvious and shows as a little drying on the finish. A top notch Bourgogne!

Quite a grown up nose - raspberry and floral but some more solid minerality too. On the palate it's a battle of red and blue fruit with red cherry fighting blue plum - perhaps the latter just wins out. Really great intensity with a great depth of flavour and a pleasant sapid acidity that spans the mid palate to the long finish. The tannins do stick out a little at this stage but time should fix that.
This is just lovely good stuff for a Monday night and will be great to see how this develops.

Through Coravin, the wine shows lots of boysenberry, earthy notes and some riper notes of black fruits, way more ripe and dense than the 18 and 17... maybe needs time to get together...
Palate gains in crispiness and freshness along the tastings... will certainly gets a little softer and more refined along the way...
Keep

Initially, the nose is a little reticent showing mostly bramble and earth. I decanted and let it sit for about 2 hours. The fruit (dark ripe cherries, raspberries) now comes out to play with the earth. The bramble is less present and more floral and a hint of spices appear. The palate is not as ripe as the nose would suggest. There is plenty of fruit but with a good acid line to freshen it up. The tanins are still young and present but I'm not getting any bitterness on the finish. The more air it got, the better the balance. My others will remain in the cellar for another 3 years. Good.

Deeper, darker and denser than the 2017. Gloss, sweet fruited and very smooth. A bit more oomph here cf yesterday’s 2017. Really very good BR that has rounded nicely over the last few months. ***

Very dark and densely reductive with a slight bitterness on the finish. After removing a glass, it needs a thorough shake and returning to the fridge for 24hrs. After the de-gas, this is glossy, dark fruited and really quite serious. Compared to the P Bouley, it’s got a slightly more mineral, herbal edge and feels a little more brooding and serious cf the Bouley’s unalloyed joyousness. The Bouley for now, the Fourrier if primed a day in advance, or for a few years’ time. Top ***

Deep cherry red. Lush and deep-fruited on the nose. Densely silky, deep, some minerality and a slight sense of something on the finish, not quite bitterness, but structure heading in that direction. First look at the 19 vintage, and it does seem impressive given this is just a BR. ***
