Phil's impromptu tasting fun (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. A little almond meal joins orange and lemon, touch of sweet spice, creamy notes, slightly animal underpin. Juicy, rich, mouthwatering acidity but not sour, generous citrus fruit shows a little orange as well as the lemon, lng, integrated grip, nice. Non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish.

Cheninesque with with aromas of green apples, peach, lemon, lime, camphor and slight pear. Well-balanced, though a smidge high in alcohol, but I know the next vintage is 0,6% lower. Impressive quality of fruit from my fav ZA winemaker.

Un très beau chenin avec un bel équilibre qui se laisse boire en jeune âge pendant que l'on attend les carthology. Le nez et la bouche sont dans les fruits blancs.

Whether it be young vines or old vines Chenin Blanc, the Alheits do it great justice... On nose : the purity of green pear, light florals and and a ghost of warm stone. On palate: all above flavour notes amplified, in addition to herbal notes of tarragon , lemon zest displayed on bright acidity within a medium body of great balance. Can expand and age well....a good foil for roast chicken , basmati rice and green beans tonight.
Very nice and fresh nose. Intense pear aroma, with honey notes. Complex, fresh and balanced mouthfeel, not that overwhelming acidity one could expect from Chenin Blanc. I like it very much.

This 2020 is a delight. It has a little stone fruit, citrus, pear, blossom and slight honeyed nose. Palate has a really fresh citrus acidity, which gives way to a rounded apricots and pear fruity depth that is delicious. This is a delightful chenin and well worth seeking out to try and #giveanewwineago #burgundynick available £27.99 @harrogatewines 89 points

Absolutely delish! I thoroughly enjoyed this and wouldn't hesitate to buy it by the case (which I rarely ever do)! We drank it as an apéritif and it was appreciated by all but everyone agreed that we could have done the whole meal with it, it is so rich, flavorful and well-balanced. Excellent quality/price ratio.
APPEARANCE: Color & intensity: pale lemon
NOSE: Intensity: medium (+) Aromas: pear, yellow apple, buttered brioche, white peach, white flowers, lime zest, crushed stone, hint of fresh herbs and wool Development: developing
PALATE: Sweetness : dry Acidity: medium (+) Alcohol : medium Body: full Intensity: medium (+) Flavors: pear, yellow apple, buttered brioche, lemon, lemon zest, crushed stone, hint of salt Finish: medium (+)
CONCLUSIONS: Quality level: very good Potential for ageing: can drink now, but has good potential for further ageing
Sampled at Oinoscent, bottle brought by friend The wine shows medium intensity, very fresh with floral notes, citrus notes, green apple, pear, lemon, lime, leafy green, underripe and ripe altogether. In the palate, South Aftican Chenin Blanc from Alheit, so distinctive, showing purity, citrus, lemon, lime, quince again. It has nice tropical fruit in the palate. The wine shows high acidity and nice texture with a weird oily element in the same time. The wine obviously lacks the depth and concentration of all the other wines of the winery but then again, that's the point of this label. Its very easy to drink, with medium body and medium finish. A perfect party wine. Well done !!!

Pale lemon green in the glass. Nose is marked by more tropical nuances of melon, candied pineapple and hints of passionfruit. The trademark apple is there, but much more dominant on the palate. Big acid, streak of minerality throughout the whole thing. Long, juicy finish. Maybe give it a year in the bottle before you drink.
