Admittedly a novice in the Burgundian world, but my humble opinion dictates that this is a wine of high QPR. The 97 vintage has medium alcohol, medium+ acidity, sports a long finish, is largely well balanced and has medium complexity (note: I previously thought it to be high). On the nose I detect a little heat and the wine is definitely still fruit forward despite its age. Noted of dried red cherries, leather, spice (peppers) and hot earth. I like this wine a lot. I would’ve given it a higher score but that would not be objective !

1st Vivino Int'l chapter in Singapore (Sat. evening/night), Part-2 (Park Regis restaurant): After the Leroy and Grivelet, this certainly felt it still had some rough edges yet to be resolved, perhaps because it was the youngest amongst the 3? Had no prior experience with any Bocquenet, so wouldn't know for sure. Anyway, this had spices on the nose, and some plums plus red-dark fruits on the palate. Spotting a medium-long finish, it still had that rustic feel to it. My 1st Bocquenet. Wonder how will this develop...?

Bright red, light rim of brown. Very transparent. Nose of forest floor, red currant, dried plum. Like drinking velvet, incredibly smooth, impressive layering, mostly old red fruit. Medium to long finish.

Don't think this will improve but it's drinking very well and should hold for a few more years.

WCC Blind Tasting of Grand Cru Red Burgundy (Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY): Stunning nose of black and red fruits. Big, rich, spicy, youthful, with a touch of sourness. This may even improve for a few years more.
