Not entirely sure why the drinking window on here ends in 2014, but this wine is singing right now! Everything you could want from aged Brunello with cured bresaola, dried orange peel, potpourri, and stewed sour cherries. Acid still very prevalent, but the tannins are rather well integrated at this point.

Absolutely perfect window for drinking. Still plenty of rich fruit backed up by fig and cocoa, freshness till the end. drank this over several hours, decanted. I savored every mouthfull.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of dried herbs, berries and cherries. Flavors of berries, cherries and raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Fruit dominated nose with cherry and dark berry; mineral and forest moss notes added to complexity. Balanced palate ready to drink with subtle ripe tannins and decent length. Acidity is decent. Entering prime time.

Simply delicious! A good example of the age worthiness of Brunellos, this 99 could easily pass as a 5 yr old. Beautifull fruit and balance, with a decent length of finish, and an overall flavor that demanded a quick replay.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, cherry and chocolate. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of green beans, cherry, prune and soy sauce with a medium/full body. Silky texture with a long finish - Better than the last bottle which was toast. This has very nice color and a berry laden nose. On the pallet it is a little spare but still complex and interesting. Nice but a little old I think but much better than the last.

- Crimsom color with slow forming legs. It's lacking fruit with a medium body. Bright texture with a short finish - May be past it's prime, not much fruit, feels hot in the finish with strong alcohol.

Surprisingly light color. Quite complex nose, clear smell of cherries. Soft, closed in the middle, nice and fruity. For me this is a very nice wine, but still too young for consumption and the points given above refer to the current taste. I guess this will develop into a more complex wine and it can be stored for 10 more years.

nice color, well balanced, elegant. I had pulled this bottle by accident to take to diner not intending to drink so soon, however even with only minimal decant this wine was very enjoyable and ready to drink.

Much too young. Heavy alcohol on the nose. Plums and tar, but very heavy tannin despite double decanting. Need much more aging. No improvement over a 2 hour time frame.

Nice color. Very floral nose, rose petals, cherry and tar. Nice mouthfeel, good acidity. Very balanced. Nice dark cherry, black licorice and firm tannins. Well integrated.

Opened the bottle to enjoy a glass with red sauce dinner. Decanted for an hour. A very enjoyable bottle that was gone before I knew it! Great nose. Very balanced, lovely fruitiness (blue and black berry). Tannins were smooth but evident. Great finish. Just a great bottle of wine!

Very nice, relatively traditional in style, good acidity, strong tannins. I frequently prefer my Brunello on the younger side, but since I only have 1 more, I'll probably set it aside for 5-6 years before trying again.

drinking a 375 ml bottle on a quiet Friday night. Very little left. Been inhaling it with great pleasure. Huge amounts of fruit, nice balance and concentration. Sometimes its amazing how much power can be pured from such a small bottle. There is nothing indicating any kind of fatique in this 375 ml bottle. Hopefully Gildo wont be reading this and price it up, before I get my hands on some more.

Needed a lot of time, but ultimately rewarding. Smooth, rich, leather. Cannot improve further.

Cherry, Floral, Tar -- classic Brunello nose and flavors from a great vintage. Drank from magnum and decanted for 4 to 5 hours.

Excellent Brunello. Still quite young, but decanting really helped. Balanced, complex, great body. Very sangiovese.

Had with homemade pizza at the Rouse's. Consistent with previous notes. A very good bottle of wine if you like Sangiovese.
