Simple nose of bubblegum, bramble, and a bit of perfume. Light bodied, heavy tannins, and high acidity. Palate is plum, blackberry, bubblegum, a bit of black olive, and dark minerals. Heavy, almost to a wall, of tannins. Long finish of black tea, dark minerals, plums, and just a hint of spices.
It just doesn't feel like previous vintages. It's lacking the depth and characteristics of Ridge that I expect. If anything, this feels like an overly tannic Gamay.
Black plum, red currant, dried cherry, though not too fruity. Earth tones, smoky meat, and vanilla accents add complexity. Beautiful mouthfeel, tannins and acidity beg for food. Had this with cassoulet, and it worked perfectly.

Vanilla oak, plummy red fruit and crushed rock minerality on nose.
Tart red fruit, moderate American oak influence, great mineral backbone and smoky, savory olives on the palate. Medium bodied with really grippy tannins, electric acidty. Intense.
Finishes drying on notes of tart red fruit and American oak. Powerfully young right now - the tannins need some time to soften - but this is phenomenal and clearly has the potential to age.

Gorgeous. Young, of course, and super tannic and acidic, but just what I needed with food. Lots of graphite in this one, too. Even better after some air.

Another terrific vintage for this. On a roll. The lively structure really makes this go. Of course the acidity but with just a really precise amount of tannin to really make it work. A touch of bubblegum up front is a touch jarring but the fruit is otherwise has a nice, fleshy core telling me this will age pretty nicely. It might it even be at its best in another three years or so.

Really showing well after ~4 hours in an open bottle.
Medium garnet, wonderful nose with strong bramble characteristics and plum fruit.
Britght, intense red fruit on the palate with a brambly undertone and a mineral edge. Oak barely perceptible. Grippy tannins and stark acidity make for perfect balance.

Quite nice...lots of acid and tartness on the backend, could definitely hand for a few more years I feel. Probably would benefit from decanting.

Liked this the first night, not so much the second night - was completely flat.

Needed a good decant, didn't have much flavor at first but after an hour was excellent. Nice complexity and earthy. Really enjoyed it.
