Popped and poured. Dark golden. This comes on with lovely flavors of marmalade, brown sugar, honey treacle and molasses. Excellent acidity and reasonably focused even at this age. I would drink these soon as I don’t think they will get much better.

Tired an worn out. Still an ok sweet wine but it did not cause us to run back to the bottle for more like other bottles we've had. Peach and pear, moderate sweetness an off-balance finish showing a touch of tartness 85

Popped and poured. Medium and dark golden. This has a terrific noble nose of pineapple, quince and spice. The wine is delicious, medium bodied, suave and elegant. The palate has marmalade, tropical fruits and cinnamon. Overall this was really terrific and is in a perfect drinking window. Fully mature but this can continue to age over the next ten years.

It's not often I get to taste a Vin de Constance, especially with some ageing. Opened and drunk immediately to accompany a chocolate dessert, which paired well. Medium orange colour, the nose and palate show several fruit flavours, e.g. orange, pineapple, tropical fruit. This is a delicious wine, with rich flavours and great length. I'm sure it would keep for another 10-20 years if we hadn't opened it.

for me VdC alwaya delivers. It is like an pre-matured Yquem. dark golden in colour, but fresh in taste, coconut, vanilla, dried apricot, figs, dates and honey, very balanced, great length, it fits perfectly to creme brulee and chocolate postres, reached not his end even I think it won't get better

A toast at Thanksgiving to past memories and to the creation of new ones - to those who passed away. to those who are living and to the those yet to be born; strong powerful unique wine with various fruit and dessert tastes - complex and requires thought to appreciate...sweet, not syrupy and balanced with tart and tang. one for the ages

The Twelveth Annual Stonefields Dinner (Guelph, ON): Excellent wine and a great way to finish things off. Nose is very expressive with citrus blossom, lemon candy and spice. Palate is excellently balanced carried on citrus and very solid acidity.

Lunch at the Gilead Cafe (Gilead Cafe, Toronto, ON, Canada): The nose showed flavours of burnt brûlée, marmalade, spice, peach and the smallest hint of what I thought might have been a bit of mouldy fruit….a lingering lactic, almost cheese note lingered as well on the nose. The palate was very nice…..flavours of marmalade, orange rind, brûlée, marzipan and honey dominate with good balancing acidity. The finish is long, complex and layered. The only thing holding this wine back is the small deficiencies on the nose.

Still really good, the nose on this is killer! There is a ton of fruit left so it should age fairly well, but I'm not sure if the overall balance is there for the long hall. Very nice now, I would drink up.

Big powerful honeyed nose, full of candied orange and a strong floral note. Rich, quite viscous and densely flavoured with sugary, honeyed fruits and a sweet vanilla and toffee filled finish. Not too sickly with enough acidity to cut through the barley sugar sweetness. Long and luscious. Lovely.

Colour is amber. Nose is intense but not overpowering. Has complex aromas of ripe apricot combined with muscat aromas, honey, grape juice, florality (rose) and minerality. In the palate it has medium+ body, is sweet but perfectly balanced, flavours are very complex with all the aromas in the nose plus caramelized fruit, toffee, candy and marshmallow. Also has some lovely balancing bitterness and an extra long finish! Acidity balances perfectly and the wine is immensely drinkable.. Fantastic sweet Muscat wine without the varietal aromas being one-dimensional or overpowering.

A: A remarkable orangey yellow. More orange than gold. N: Pineapple, earth, honey, tangerine P: Some unexpected mushroom. VERY ripe tangerine on the turn. Some clove and a dash of pepper. The acidity needs to be amped up a bit to balance the sugar. However, the sugar isn't cloying.
C: The spice and earthy tones are interesting. The cork looks fine and it doesn't seem corked. The earth element moves it away from the sauternes which gives it its own personality. Want more acidity though.
C: this is 30 GBP but i find Sauternes a better value. Have another bottle of this but i shan't be buying any more. WANT TO TRY THE GROOT CONSTANTIA as contrast.

Powerful, ripe nose of apricot and honeyed pineapple with some vanilla and white floral notes as well. The fruit coats the entire palate, but it is not overly sugarly sweet like some dessert wines. Great balance of ripe fruit and acid. Very long finish. Very good.

The pride of South Africa, this is one of those wines that everyone should drink at least once. A beautiful way to end the night with friends after a blind tasting, this was a crowd pleasing surprise to those who expect such wines to only come from France or Hungary. A full, rich apricot nose with a touch of botrytis notes leading to a full-bodied mouth filled with fruit and just enough sweetness to know it's a dessert wine. This is a sipping wine, and just a few drops can last on the tastebuds for minutes. A wonderful wine.

1986 Dinner (The Library, Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong): Shining light gold colour. Sweet sugary nose with touches of apricot and autumnal wood smoke. Very sugary on the palate but quite nice. Sharp and precise but too one-dimensional. Big length and resonance but too sugary. Lacks finesse.

2nd bottle in the space of a month - this is simply superb, with increasingly complexity once the wine breathes a bit - and obviously this has years ahead of it. For the price (£25) I think this wine is a steal.

Simply delicious. Very young currently but it is light due to the acidity and sweet without being cloying. It already has nice aromatics and a wonderful mouthfeel and wonderful sweet melon and citric tastes. This wine will only improve with age and luckily I have several and will likely open the next one in 3-5 years.

Incredibly balanced, elegant, complex wine. Honeyed fruit, melon, citrus - great combination - and the sweetness of the fruit is balanced beautifully with a crisp, slightly acidic finish. Drank this way to young and this will keep for years. Excellent.

RJ’s wine dinner – random wines – Krug, Salon, Leroy, Truchot, Dujac, La Turque, Chave, SQN and etc. (Mon Ami Gabi - Reston, VA): I like this wine upon release as it shows nice balance due to bright acidity. This seems to show a hint of oxidative note as well as strong presence of spearmint. Apricot, dry apricot, yellow peach, burn sugar, and spearmint. Medium concentration and nice acidity.
