This is a wonderful bottle of Cabernet. But not the best example of Corison Kronos. I do expect a lot from a Kronos. Color was dark, some muted fruit on the nose as I decanted. Some sediment, so filter. The wine was thin on the palate. The fruit is there, but light but it lingers to the finish. Nice acidity. We enjoyed this bottle. And would have enjoyed it more if I didn’t know the label. Glad I have plenty other vintages to enjoy.

The wine is in a nice place. Not the best Kronos ever but showing mature fruit, balanced tannins, but plenty of acidity. What you would expect in a well-aged cab.

Sad to say that I’m disappointed in this vintage of Kronos. I’ll have to go back to my notes but I think there may have been prior bottles that sat with me similarly.
Color in the glass is still quite dark. Surprising given its age. Muted nose. Dark berries and a little cassis. Something mildly unpleasant though I’m not sure what. It was enough for me to double check my glassware. Not corked.
Mouthfeel is thin but does ultimately coat the tongue. Balanced. As I aerate in my mouth, I do get sparks of beautiful fruit. A touch of raspberry. A little bit of tannin left.
I love Cathy’s restrained style but this is a little too much no “there” there on this one. Certainly disappointing for the price. Drink up.

Dark red fruit, chalk, earth, violet. Still a bit tannic, after a good decant It reveals blueberry, red raspberry, some spice and/or licorice. This has aged well and appears to have a nice life ahead as well. Good stuff.

Was very tasty with a different pallet that was a welcome surprise. It has aged well & feels like it could go a few more years in the the cellar with no problems.

Medium plus in body, shows moderate to strong oak impressions early on, though this really settles in after a couple hours of air. Shows excellent (menthol/eucalyptus) freshness, classic dark red and purple fruit, cassis. Hit its stride after 1-2 hours of air (no decant). Just a great Napa glory, shows a little denser than the standard Napa Valley, though that was a beauty as well.

Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): This opaque ruby wine flaunts a dense mix of ripe wild berries, black pepper, black olives and truffles. It is a muscular offering, with firm tannins and fresh acidity. The alcohol (listed as 13.8%) is nicely integrated. Mouth-coating in the middle and finishing long, this is a beautiful Cabernet with the structure to easily take it deep into the next decade. Drink now-2026.

Fruity, big and juicy. Great tannin and acidic structure to balance the fruit, still a clear Cali-cab. Beautiful wine, long lasting and extremely well made!!

Napa Valley winery visits April 26: Aromas of espresso, crushed rock, redcurrant and lavender. Beautifully layered red fruit and eastern spice with cedary leathery depth. Pretty, elegant, and silky. Firm fine tannins with plenty of mineral and fruit on a long finish. Seamlessly complex.

D60; G10; 4+8*+4*+8.5+8.5+4*+4*; This was an interesting tasting because on any other night it might have scored higher, but on this night it was up against a 2008 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cab that was simply better in all categories. The Corison did have a spicy minerality that nicely differentiated itself from the Quilceda Creek. Overall solid effort, but I would consider it about $40 overpriced. Decanted, opened over an hour.

Tasted at the winery. Aromas of cassis, leather, violet and blueberry. Begins with high-toned blue fruit and moves to black cherry, tea, olive and cedar. Medium weight and polished on the palate. Fine tannins and a full finish. Excellent.

good and only getting better... really strong effort already. I decanted 4 hours and was pleasantly surprised. I had thought my bottle may have been compromised and instead got a beautiful Sunday treat.

I am not an expert. I appreciate Corison wine's touch of old worldliness. Fruit doesn't kick you in the face. Spent the night at the sports book watching basketball and drinking Green Flash IPA. Upon arriving home opened and poured the 2006 Kronos. Wine pours visually old out of the bottle. Initially oak, earth, old, no fruit on the nose. Taste= acid is present not overpowering, tannins in line, well balanced. Can't imagine this wine improving with more age. 30 minutes in from decanter, nose is consistent palate begins to pick up cherry, chocolate, leather all with balance but nothing exceptional. expected more from the finish. Dilute almost. 1.5 hrs in it is what it is. Hard to define. Drinks almost as if it is past it's prime.

Earth, tobacco, truffle, blackberry and cassis scents lead to round, soft textures. The fresh blackberry with hints of chocoalte in the finsh make a fine tasting experience. This is ready for prime time drinking.

Dark cherries, spice, fine tobacco, big smokey oak tannins. It's a B+/A-. It's still a little big and lacked good length on the finish. So I leaned more toward a B+.

Started out nice and lean with graphite and cedar. Then TCA took over and ruined the bottle.

Nose: Perfumed with ripe fruits, stone, Flint and sweet Thai spice.
On the palette: blueberry, raspberry, light herbs and cedar.
Finish Iis medium to long. Probably could go thru 2026, but is drinking nicely now. Age longer for less fruit forward style.

Was hoping for more from this one but was disappointed. It did cost $120 which is overpriced for what you get.
