Fascinating -- fruit is very lively, and that's the problem: black fruit dominates, and while there's some structure, the wine isn't particularly interesting. If I had another, I wait a few more years, BION.

Excellent example of a mature californian cabernet. Drinks beautifully now but has still some acidity left. Great nose and I would have scored even higher but lacks a bit in the mid-palate to justify an outstanding score.

Not sure what wine the other people were drinking, but this was awesome. Deep purple color and nose reticent of black cherry and cedar. The wine is aging beautifully and my only regret is that it was my only bottle. The wine definitely has a couple more years of life in it, but it is drinking great right now.

I have to agree with the most recent posts...definitely should be consumed soon. Somewhat oxidized with slight bell pepper/ tar. Existing fruit was dark but short lived on the palate. I did decant for about an hour which may have been too long.

I've had a few bottles recently and I think this wine should be consumed soon. The color is good and dark. It has thrown a lot of sediment. The palate is showing a bit of oxidation. Drink up.

This wine has a lot of dark and rich fruit remaining and seems youthful. I think it is showing a bit of a green pepper or vegetal taste on the finish but it went very well with food.

Still some purple in the red. blackberries and cassis in the nose, with a hint of a flat spot in the bouquet. Not sure what the flat spot is but something monkeys with the nose just a bit. Rich fruit in the mouth but with overpowering tannins. I think this needs time to settle more, but I don't know how long the fruit will last. It shuold be safe for 2-3 years.... as a guess. After breathing a while all that is left is tannins.

Very dark color. Nose shows cassis, oak and a fair bit of alcohol (label states 13.9%, smells more like 15%). Palate is somewhat astringent, with red fruit and medium tannins. It's okay, but not special.

At first the nose is very tight, after a couple of hours of air there are notes of cherry, spice. In the mouth there are more cherries with hints of leather, cinnamon, allspice. It is a fairly well balanced wine, if not a tad sweet and a little hot at the end.

Good ripeness for a Mendocino Cab. Some deposits are starting to crust the inside of the bottle. Cassis and plums with hints of wood smoke and cocoa. Very refined and elegant with a fine and silky structure. Drinking very well right now.

Great color, deep purple with a red tinge, like grape juice. Nose needed a couple hours to open up, then rewards with deep cherry and some heat. Flavors of black cherry, licorice, and sweet pie spices. Finish is tart fairly long. Tannins are soft and in balance. Nice wine.

From memory of tasting-room pour; I was surprised at how good/decent this cabernet was. The nose was quintessential cherry, anise and pepper. On the palate, this cab came across very fruit forward but with dusty tannins, nice mouth-coverage, and decent complexity; some dark chocolate on the finish. I think this is a really good cab, but I was rushed through the tasting and really need another sample with some time to ponder through this more. I’ll still post the score I wrote at the time, though I think it may be a little on the harsh side.

Love this. Tastes like an Amarone. Dried fruit, long finish. Wow.

I disagree with the posts below. I had the wine and it had no hint of oxidation or age. Seems very fruity and youthful.
