Roy's with EWG (Roy's, Pasadena, CA): Sweet chocolate nose like a ripe modern Cab with some dill notes popping up later on. Balanced with good acids but only vaguely tasting like Zinfandel.

a beautifully balanced ,graceful mature zin. Dark fruit, supple tannins, rounded corners. pronounced fruit- dark cherry/berry - very rewarding, proving once again that Ridge, unlike many other zins come into their own with some age.

A bit too much fruit. I like the Ridge zins a lot, but the ones from Paso always strike me as a bit over the top. Leaning toward the Turley / Rosenblum style.

wonderful, lush dark fruit, plum jam, raisin, hint of earthiness, still nicely balanced. deep red color, mature but not turning light or brownish yet.

Raisin and Licorice on the nose. High alcohol with a hint of port. Extremely over the top. Blow your hair back Zin.

Overripe fruit here detracts from the overall impression of the wine. The grapes are from a very hot region and they reflect that.

Took this to a neighboorhood Zin tasting. Out of 15 wines, this was #14. Seemed past its drinking window.

moderately corked. Too bad, was looking forward to it.

Lovely, big, bold, juicy, spicy and fruity Ridge Zin. One of the better ones.

fruit forward, not much spice, a little heat on the finish (14.5% will do that), not terribly tannic. Won’t last forever...
