Surprisingly good! Found a 375ml bottle for two of us to share with BBQ NY Steak. Luscious body with deep Blackberry flavor and some spice notes. It had a slight sharp edge to it (a little aged?), but had no bad tastes or finish.

Very balanced, integrated tannins, fruit and acids. As time went on acids began to dominate. Very pleasantly surprised for a wine "found" in the cellar. Opened along with a 2006 which was better than the 2007

PnD. Hefty bottle with a massive punt. Cork was very clean and darkly stained, but with no sediment. Super dark and opaque, but for the plum colored meniscus. Ripe blue/black fruits on the nose with some meatiness behind it. I was expecting a fruit bomb, but this was nice and balanced. 100% Syrah on the palate with some minerality. Med texture with resolved tannins. Screaming for some lamb chops!
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Syrah glass at 58F.

Popped and left bottle open for about 40 min, before having with Grilled flat iron steak. Still a big tannic wine...Some dark fruit with some black peppery spice. While this went well with steak, and was solid.. didn't have that extra gear. enjoyed it, but had hoped for a bit more...

I had this with a cheese plate on 3/10/13. It had a strong, fragrant and alluring bouquet of smoked meat, blackberry, plum, burnt toast, mocha, pepper, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was rich, layered and dry with flavors of blackberry, plum, burnt toast, licorice, pepper spice and chalky minerals. 91+

T.C.from Santee. I've enjoyed several bottles of 07 Doyenne Syrah with consistant notes of dark Cherry, Black Plums, spices and tar. This wine needs an hour to open up and hits it stride at 70 degrees with rich fruits extended. It was excellent with braised Short Ribs.

Deep, dark fruits with incredible spice. Consistent with notes from a previous (half) bottle, time in the glass bodes well for this wine as far as complexity and integration. However, by the end of a two-hour dinner, the wine was extremely dry on the finish. These notes are based on a 750ml P&P just above cellar temps. I am far more impressed with the 2006 DeLille Syrah. Unclear to me how this 2007 will develop, but I will hold my last bottle for about a year.

This guy needed the couple hour decant and probably could have used a few more. Tight, rich and oaky, this has everything you'd want from a powerhouse syrah from Washington, other than a few more years to tone this guy down. It really needs them.

Delicious, yummy, a WA Syrah. Day II. Dark, not extracted. Some mineral and fruit dark roasted notes. Rich palate, restrained fruit, some Cherry Cola? Weird. Sweet & dry finish. Some chalky mineral at the finish, which is mostly on the palate. Not to much acid in this, or tannins, so I suggest to start drinking now w a couple of hour decant. Enjoy for a few more years. Tasted from a 1/2 bottle.....this is beautiful wine. The nose is complex and evolved nicely to reveal dark fruit, a floral character and just a hint of peppery spice and a tiny bit of meaty/earthiness. The flavors have floral, dark fruits and some nice minerality on the tail end. The palate is medium + body, silky but with a fine-grained structure on the long finish. The half bottle is drinking beautifully.....if I had any 750's I'd drink them now and through the next 5+ years.

This was much better than the previous bottle. Maybe I was prepared this time for the MASSIVE fruit in this winee. First day, very very fruity and not much else. It could not even stand up to a grilled hamburger. Day 2, still fruity but it seemed to gain some depth. There weren't any real secondary flavors, but the fruit seemed to get more interesting. Better on day 2. I'm saving my last bottle for a year or two.

Unpleasant nose and acidic taste out of the gate. After a two-hour decant, this wine is a different animal: more defined fruits, complex flavors and a much smoother finish with just a bit of spice. Interesting development over time in the glass. Very good+

Slow to open and I was quick to drink, so will probably oxidize my next bottle. Very little nose initially and over the first hour, the tannins are still in front of the front on the palate. I will approach the next bottle differently and probably will wait 6 months

This is an interesting Syrah that needs some patience. I say so because it was somewhat messy out of the gate (5pm). By 8pm this is rocking on all cylinders. Its pure and focused with some slightly gobby blue/black fruits showcasing blueberries and raspberries. The nose is awesome! Smells like a perfect Syrah party with those fruits showing and then some: black cherries, red currants and cola. There is a hint of violets and other spring flowers. Intense lushness on the palate with a very admirable medium-weight attack with texture and finesse. Long and true to itself, this should be fantastic in a bunch of years. How many? I might say 4 or 5. What remains on the palate long after the fruits are gone is a hint of spice. Gotta love these.

Decanted. First impressions: Deeper, darker color than I had expected. No nose, maybe too cold. Nice mouthfeel, smooth tannins, spice on the finish. Later: Warmer now, more spice on the nose. Slightly tart on the front palate. Tannins still smooth, but more spice, fruit, and heat on the finish, which is now noticeably longer. I don't usually like syrah, but this is growing on me.

98% Syrah, 2% Viognier. Ruby red-purple color. Raspberry and violet nose. Raspberry profile continues onto the full bodied palate along with some spice and earth. Medium-long finish. Good balance – this has all the makings of a very elegant wine. Quite young at present – definitely benefits from some decanting – this really requires several more years before drinking. Drink after 2012. Excellent!

Not sure I'd go as far as a 95 on this one, as JACK does, but this is a very nice wine. Well balanced, with not yet ripe dark fruit, tobacco and a little spice, from a well trusted WA wine producer in DeLille. I did not know about this label until I tried it as part of a TasteLive event hosted by Hospice du Rhone (disclosure: this wine was sent to me as a sample), but is definitely on my radar now.

Massive bottle with a punt you could hide a small village within. Dark in color. Aromatically fruity, but packs a serious flavor punch on the palate. Wow. Big, sweet-ish chalky tannins. The anti-flavor elite would not appreciate this wine. Low-medium acidity. Long finish. Fantastic grilling/cocktail wine. Serious, but not a sit-down with fancy dinner kind of wine.

DeLille Tasting (PVCC): Big fruit up front and continuing to the mid palate. Acid kicks in on what turns out to be just a little short on the finish.
