Written three weeks after drinking. Two years since last bottle. The wine has developed well. Complex nose, dark mature fruits, spices, meat. Lovely, full round and smooth mouth feel. Glad I still have a handfull of bottles.

Decanted 1 hour. Aromas of blackcurrant, wood and some tobacco. Lovely fruit and balanced. Smooth tannins. Good length. Beginning to mature. Beware of bottle variation, this one was as it should be.

My previous bottle two years ago didn't impress me, better this time, starting to open up, classic aromas, needs 2-3 more years. A bit too pricy here in Norway.

Okay it's settled, this wine definitely has some bottle variation. But this one was as I remembered my first one being: smooth but wtih great lift and the freshness typical of 01 as well as a distinct lemony quality. Certainly challenging some of the classed growths. Tannin/fruit is still not quite resolved, so waiting another year is still recommended. But I don't have enough reasonably priced Bordeaux in the cellar, so something had to give...

Good deep color with some slight browning. Smells of dark berries, a little herbaceous and with some green pepper. A hint of smokiness on the palate, medium concentration and length. Tight and a little tannic and dry finish. Ok acidity. Will perhaps develop somewhat further, but the material isn’t there to become a truly interesting wine. The wine is not produced under its own label anymore; it now is part of the Ch. Latour (Les Forts).

Pretty much in line with my previous notes for this wine. However a bit unsure about the wood integrity on this particular bottle. There is a distinct wood element combined with black currants and hints of vanilla/dark chocolate that seemed abit overwhelming and not so well structured as my previous bottle. Nice lenght and body. Still an infant in my opinion and think this wine will develop nicely.

Drunk with veal. One of the two bottles tasted had been opened, decanted and stored under vacuum cork for two days after half of it had been drunk for control... Rich nose dominated by blackcurrant notes, some dark chocolate tones in there too, and just the right amount of vanilla (ie: just a hint) not to make it obtrusive. The one that had been opened and decanted a few hours in advance also had some elements that could remind you of menthol, Fisherman's Friend or similar. This was gone in the one that had been opened two days before. Feels very smooth when entering the mouth, the same taste elements as in the nose, tannins soft but still present and well balanced - well suited for this lean meat. Lovely wine, I think. There was agreement that the one that had been opened two days in advance was the better one!

Delicate and stylish nose of black currants, dark chocolate, vanilla with nicely integrated oak. In the mouth very smooth and balanced with a lasting finish. This wine performs on classified growth level in my opinion.

Returned to vendor without being opened. Presumed flawed like the two other bottles.

Bordeaux North to South (My house): Long and quite intense. Some brett? A little awkward finish, a bit “milky”.
