PnP, then drunk over dinner in good company, no TN, from memory. I couldn't quite decipher the nose, perhaps for lack of attention or time. On the palate it was very enjoyable: a lot of matter, but not heavy at all, rather a pleasant richness. Tasty and mature. Tannins are biting still but not intruding. It drinks very well now, but seems to be still young.

This is an incredibly pretty and delicate expression of Lazzarito that is immediately appealing yet deserves a few hours in bottle to really come around. The bouquet is classic with fresh roses giving way to dusty cherry, cloves, allspice and the slightest hint of underbrush. This communicates Lazzarito through it's edgy core of salty minerals mixed with concentrated raspberry and red currant fruits, as adolescent tannins add grip toward the finale, yet there's plenty of zesty acidity and velvety textures to balance its structure. The 2005 tapers off persistently with an air of tobacco and lingering spice. I believe another five years will do this some good, yet if you're sitting on a few bottles, there's no harm in checking in now.

Park Avenue Fine Wines - Portland: Legacy Pour flight: Clear, medium-ruby color, lightening at the edges. Fresh and deeply complex aromas - nutmeg, fresh plum, black cherry, star anise, wet stone, rose hip, leather, potpourri, etc. Intense expression on the palate, firm but very supple and round in its density. Seamless fruit and serious secondary totally integrated, similar profile found on the bouquet. Medium-body, lively tension, plush fine tannins, big finishing depth highlighting the wine’s minerality.

I gave this two hours of air to open up -- it only budged just a little bit. Showing very young, just barely starting to open up. The fruit is there, just barely peeking its head out from behind a wall of acid and tannin. Quality is there for sure, and I'm definitely enjoying it, but for the remaining half bottle (I used a coravin) I will open and decant, pour it back into the bottle and leave it in the fridge for a day or two.

Still very young. That said, it's delicious, and even exciting. I wasn't expecting this (shame on me) from a 2005, but the more I dig in to them, from many producers, the more I'm really enjoying where they're at right now. I'd say this is only at the beginning of what is likely a long, long preferred drinking window. It's the following morning, and I think the finish is still resonating on my palate. Aerated to decanter 90 minutes. highly recommended
Hard to rate at this stage. Way too young. This needs a decade at least. Quality is there and you can see that but even after a good 6 hr decant it was hard to really enjoy

Powerful, energetic, full of substances. Rose petals, ripe sour cherries, sweet wood and spices, beautiful red tea, all wrapped by underlying minerality and hint of smokiness. Full body refreshingly acidic, very ripe soft tannins filling palate. Alots of charming ripe and dried red berries on palate. Precise mid palate. ridiculously long flavourful finish. Approachable long and potential for 2 decades...recommend to try one now to see its potential. 96+

I overkant 5000 flasker laget av denne Serralunga-herligheten. 18 dagers fermentering. Lagret videre i 12 måneder på fransk eik, før 14 måneder i Slovenske eiketønner. Ufiltrert.

Clear, garnet colored, medium (+) intensity exhibiting developing aromas of rose petal, red/black cherry, tar, menthol, leather and vanilla. Dry with medium (+) levels of acidity and alcohol. An elegant, mesmerizing wine that reflects a remarkable level of delicacy while concurrently displaying fresh opulent flavors of aforementioned fruit. Tannins present are fine grained and gripping. Long reverberating finish. Delicious.

On the more elegant side- may be the vintage. Lots of classic Barolo notes tar, roses, sour cherry, and sandalwood. Was thinking Cannubi, then a blend like Mascarello, but the elegance and smaller frame threw me off. Very fine tannin that really packs a punch on the back end. A baby, for sure. This will definitely improve with at least 5 years of bottle age.

Still young, but already excellent with a few hours of air. And even better on day two. This will be on top for many years.

Off the charts. paired great with apps, possibly a little weak for the veal marsala chop
