I thought I had drunk this all up years ago, but I found this bottle in the cellar and opened it with low expectations. Surprisingly, it had hardly changed. This has always been a dark golden color with a strong honey note, but there was a lot more here as well. Baking spices, ripe pear, good acidity. A very nice wine and a great value.

A very mineral expression in this wine. Rather full bodied. Lots of stone fruit and some melon. Some green almond on a bitter finish. The heat spiked a little.

Full nose of honeysuckle and pear. A little fat on the palate, but there is a really noticeable, almost bitter slate/minerality in this wine that I really like. This is a really interesting white wine for the money. If it the alochol was not so noticeable and there was a little more acidity this would have scored much, much higher in my book.

Light yellow. Satisfyingly mineral expression with some pear-ish fruit, all quite aromatic. A little low on acid but makes a solid attempt to compensate with minerality.

This is my first experience with this grape. Given the bottle I expected more sweetness like a reisling. Light gold in color. Nice mouth feel. This wine has a very long finish. It has lots of dark, musky flavor. I'm not sure where I caught this in its life cycle. You do get the alcohol. Musk, nutmeg, caramel and vanilla notes. Good vibrant acid. Ian Diagata got this wine right on the review.
This wine grew on me over a few nights. It is a great sipper/apertif before dinner. The slate really came through over the last few nights. I tend to like it colder. This is a JR special. Licking Rocks! (0 views)

interesting. ripe nose with hints of rot, unctuous on the palate but with significant mineral bite on the finish (but no acidity). a little hot and a little short, but the ying-yang of the nose/oiliness with the crunchy finish is engaging.

Light straw in the glass, this wine had an interesting nose of bitter citrus, and some earthy/stony flavors. Not very fruit-focused. In the mouth it was definitely medium-bodied with a slight oily texture. Good acidity with significant bitterness that went well with an aged goat cheese, ossau-iraty, and a rather underwhelming piave vecchio. Overall, pretty good except for the bitterness - which I was able to deal with because of the cheese.
The producer, Sartarelli, makes exclusively Verdicchio.

Simple and straightforward, a white good with food. Full in the mouth, lacks precision and clarity, which means it muddles through its finish.

I think this is probably very good for the style, but it's just a little too bitter for my liking.

Expansive with an acidic bite, broad with flowers and a yeasty finish. Clean, pretty, refreshing, interesting. Would buy again. Like a vouvray?
