Meh...jammy with blackberry cola, smokey tobacco notes and some slight astringent quality on the finish. High residual sugar. Age has not improved this, and less in love with it than my first experience.

Still powerfull, fruit forward, jamy wine with sharp acid and strong tannin. A little hot, but a touch of a chill helps. The '10 is on the shelf now, i guess i should give it a try. I would suggest if you have this, let it mellow for another year or so.

Figured I would try the last 2 on the shelf...this is similar to last - just to much seeming sugar and fruit to make this enjoyable past a few sips...i must say that it matched not badly with spicy food...I won't give up the producer as I think they have some potential. Looking for the recent Primativo...

I don't if my palate has changed, or the wine, but a year later - this is not as good for me. Still i can see this being "tasty" by a lot of people, but this is way over the top, a little artificial and a tad on the fruit bomb, slight syrupy quality with dripping dark berry notes. No sig tannins or oak. Some coffee quality on the finish perhaps...not as elegant or interesting at this point. I do have a '09 i should try soon.

Very dark and brooding purple color. Delicious, creamy full bodied dark fruit. Nicely balanced even though the alcohol level is high. Fine tannins and a reasonably long finish. I think this is a very good wine for the low price.

Nose of blackberry, briar, and barbecue meat. Blackberry, blueberry and asian spice. Great QPR for a malbec. Decanted for over an hour. A lot of heat initially.

To sweet for me. More red fruit and less dark components I come to expect from a Malbec. Lack of tannins contributed to a medium body mouth feel. I expected more from this bottle.

Pop and pour. Very big nose on this one, with minimal heat. Deep color and good legs. Nice blackberry on the front, strong on the spice on the finish. Jammy and full mouthfeel all the way through.
20 min later, less berry and much more spice and tannins.

Why did we stay away from this one so long? Deep purple color, rich nose of black fruit and tar, and a complex multi-layered palate of blackberry, bramble, iron and graphite. Long and very pleasant finish. Shows some possibility for medium-term ageing, but it's terrific right now. Stellar effort from Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre.

Tasted Blind. Blackberry and licorice are both prominent on the nose, leading to tastes of slight blackberry and oak. The finish continues with blackberry and oak. Somewhat simple, but no flaws of consequence. This is easy to drink and is rather enjoyable.

14.9% ABV. Dark opaque garnet with a translucent rim. This bottle showed more like my first bottle of this wine, with a little high toned stemmy/herbal note on the nose. Medium full bodied and fairly rich with black cherry and mulberry fruit. This has a nice QPR.

US&P (unscrewed and poured). Lots of heat on the nose upfront - overwhelmed fruit. Decent mouth feel - very slight hints of blackberry and currant, but finish fell flat. Seemed to evolve slightly over time, but not enough to change first impression. Perhps a bit too young. Much better wine out there for the price. Would not purchase again.

The bouquet on this one is very fruity. Almost to the level of rasperry jam.
This wine tastes of ripe cherry and plums, but I think the cherry keeps the plum from being overbearing. Very mild tannins. This one is a fruit bomb for sure.

On the nose, this Malbec offers just a hint of what's to come on the palate. Aromatically, I picked up on just a hint of iron, beef jerky, and dark brambly berries. However, the attack on the palate is where this wine really excels. A dazzling array of ultra-vibrant, clean, delicious fruit is immediately present, accompanied by a respectable dose of acidity. Tannins are silky and non-grating. A long pleasant finish. A thoroughly enjoyable full-bodied wine.

Popped and poured while watching the NFL draft. Aroma was spice and black cherry. First taste was the same, but the spice quickly gave way to a creamy, dare I say mocha flavor. This is quite different from most of the <$15 Argentinian Malbecs I have tasted over the last 6 months. The finish was mild and a little bit shorter than I hoped. Overall, though, a very enjoyable daily drinker. Glad I have a couple more to enjoy.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of cocoa, roasted meat, perfume and black berries. Jammy flavors of berries, cherries and currants. Medum to bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium body. Drink or hold. Unabashedly fruity wine, not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

Upon initial quaffing, I thought it had an interesting nose though I could not put my finger on what made it distinct. Glass to lips ended the curiosness. This is THE most over-oaked wine I have ever had. So much so, I almost want to give the benefit of a doubt and say it was a bottle variation, but I'll never know because I will never buy another. Just one man's opinion, but how do they sell so much of this stuff? I'm reading the other comments and I just can't believe I had the same wine as these people.
14.9% ABV. Dark garnet, slightly translucent. Big nose of blueberry and a touch of oak. This bottle seems to have an Aussie Shiraz streak to it. Medium full bodied with a mixture of black raspberry and mulberry fruit. Juicy. Has a nuance of stemmy cocoa buried in there somewhere maybe as well. This has a good QPR at $15.

color: medium-dark purple; nose: cherry and oak; taste: initial mouth feel of bright, dark fruit, plum on mid-palate, medium-length smooth finish offers tons of spicy dark chocolate; overall -- scrumptious, substantial, focused, and coherent package from start to finish, very good QPR ($13 on sale at Chevy Chase Wines in NW DC), reminded me of an Australian shiraz such as Thorne Clarke Shotfire, worth buying several more bottles for pairing with summertime grilling foods like steak or burgers

I was just getting dark, tannic and maybe even a bit meaty off this at first, but after aerating it, it opened up into blackberry, spice, and dark chocolate. Big in a way I enjoyed and quite pleasant to drink. Paired wonderfully with dark chocolate which caused me to raise the score as it seemed to open up a whole new vista of flavour. A number of people at a blind tasting party enjoyed it, so I would bring it to a gathering of people who aren't serious wine drinkers. Definitely new world, though.
