Wine Flock - Global Merlot Introspective (My Place): Tight nose offers some black cherry with coaxing. Palate has medium bodied, rich black cherry fruit with cigar ash, tar and smoky notes. Fine tannin is well integrated but still offers grip on the back palate. A rarity from Ridge's ATP program. My #6, Group #11.

Wineflock - Merlot around the world (Rich's): Group #11, My #10 - Medium full red/purple color. Medium nose of bright red fruit with some floral undertones but a canned note. Big canned black fruit with a sour finish. A touch of VA?

DUO, Miami Anti-SIDEWAYS BYO Merlot Dinner: Flight 1, #2. Elaine & Ed's Wine. A rarity that was purchased at the winery. ATP stands for advanced tasting program, which I guess is the vignerons equivalent of rthe artists Hors de Commerce. Incredibly monolithic at 14 years of age! We had to aerate to get it to give itself up. When we did it began to reveal itself. Perhaps similar to Monte Bello in its longevity. Ellen preferred the Ridge to the Matanzas Creek. The group liked them both, and there was a slight preference for the Matanzas Creek.

Unreal how young this is right now. It's positively dark with barely any bricking. Really is fresh as a daisy.

Poured from a bottle that was part of a NYD party. Showed surprisingluy fresh, seemingly without any real 2ndary markers. Very good.
