A fruit forward, balanced wine. Beginning to show the tertiary characters, mushroom, earthiness. Drunk now, and straight from bottle. Found it go weaker in structure over time in glass.

On opening there is this intense aroma, not unpleasant just different, that goes away after 20 minutes in the glass.
Then
Nose med- intensity: floral, meaty, smoky, slight Red fruit, cherry? , mint,
Palate: meatiness comes through, then good fruit and, med tannin. Med pleasant length.
Overall nice. More than acceptable wine, good mature wine for the price. Still some tanin and based on how long it drank for in the glass suggest no rush to drink up.
(I didn’t decant this time. Next time I will experiment to give it some breathing time in bottle to see if we get a better expression of fruit.)

This has a decade before tertiaries. Agressive tannins upon popping. Had to decant for 3 hours. It was delicious but fairly primary and some nicely integrated oak. It has a good amount of fruit, so this should age nicely. If you have more, keep it at least 5 years. Time will reward. If you like your wine young, buy malbec. And whoever screw me with the 2018 drink by date, FU!

The 2008 Chateau Boutisse is one of the finest Grand Crus of the vintage from St. Emilion in the $25 price range. If you find it for less, buy more, or you'll wish you had. I really like SUZANNA9452000's note from a year ago. I can only say that it has improved since then. Garnet, fleshy and layered. Ripe raspberry, boysenberry, plum, currant and tobac. Refined tannins. Long finish. 70% Merlot/30% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is drinking. QPR. 14% abv. Drink or hold.

Dark berry nose - sweet almost syrupy. On the palate there is ever so slight tartness, followed by long and lingering tannins. Not overpowering, but they definitely create a lasting impression. Complex and quite intense. Had with braised lamb.

Clear deep ruby in the glass. Clean pronounced nose of black fruits, cedar, spices, flowers, mocha. In the mouth: Big black fruit, toasted oak, spices, tobacco, copper. Rich and silky, medium+ bodied, medium acid, medium tannin and medium alcohol. Long finish. Modern style, drink now or hold. Good value Cru Saint Emilion.

This is a very good wine. I agree it starts slow but picks up quick. Lay it down a year or two. It will pay off.
