Exceed expectations based on the notes in CT. Quite dark, red fruit, cedar, earth on the nose. Fresh, red and dark fruit, just a slight touch of alcohol warmth, and pretty long and tannic finish. Enjoyed with a beef and red wine stew.

Nose: nice, woods, tannin vanilla (4/2020) 'More fruit, lots of berry and cherry, wood. (1/2108) 'a little closed on the nose, some fruit, cedar (8/2013)
Palate: Cherry, wood, leather, some vanilla, nice floral note, a bit hot, still tannic, but not unbalanced. Could have aged even longer, but I think you would start to lose the fruit. (4/2020) 'Cherry still very strong, some wood and vanilla, but not very strong. A nice floral note, violets, still tight tannins and young fruit could keep ageing (1/2018) 'cherry, cedar, a bit of vanilla, still a little young now (8/2013)

One of the better Bordeaux’s from the 2006 vintage I’ve had to date; a pleasant surprise. Seems to be starting to hit its stride. Bottle label indicates this is 100% Merlot. Decanted and enjoyed with a dinner of marinated bourbon glazed grilled pork loin, baked potato, and sautéed spinach.
Medium body, still youthful ruby color. Fantastic aromatics reflecting sweet ripe cherries, smoky red berries, cedar oak, bitter chocolate, taunt leather, and some faint dried herbs. Similar flavor profile, dry in the mouth, supported by a solid structured foundation: tannins, acid; and oak, all of which are on their way to seemless integration. Medium plus finish; worked well with he food. I think this will continue to improve over the next 5-7 years, but like most Bordeaux’s, patience is required..

This was a nice surprise paired with some grilled tri tip. My limited experience with 06 Bordeaux is all about tannin and little fruit; this was along that line, but had enough black fruit to carry it. If you can bear high tannin, it's worth a try now.

As JJLGD asks, where's the fruit? This is all oak and tannins. The structure is there (medium acid, medium+ tannins) but needs fruit to brighten it up.

Dense coloring w/ a bit of crimson towards the edges. Aromas of dark fruits, charcoal, graphite, light funk, and licorice. Medium body and acid, medium+ finish, and pretty firm tannins still at this point, even 4 hrs. after opening (~2 in decanter). Flavors of dark fruits, oak, and mineral. I would give this at least 2-3 more years at this point. Definitely pricey for what this is, but let's see how it develops.

Restrained compared to the Bramare malbec consumed immediately prior. Should have reversed the order, but the guest is king, and this was consumed by request. Still, for my taste this was smooth and paired well with food, but the flavors were muted and the finish was surprisingly short. $20 bottle max.

Rich black fruit, with chewy, charcoal-like, tannins on the back end. Shows, some bret, but its just enough to add complexity and I like it when its at that level. Should have many years left.

Healthy nose from black purple glass; tannins still make this play less delicately than it deserves; will be softly voiced someday (5 years); enjoyable as a general wine today. 50/5/12/15/8

Sunday, March 28, 2010 - This was decent bottle of wine. Dark fruits come through on the nose with hints of black pepper and a little bit of earth. On the palate were ripe black cherries and dark blackberries. The pepper from the nose carried through along with a little bit of heat on the back end. The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Blackberry, Black currant (cassis), Cherry, and Black Pepper.

Past its prime but you could still tell the quality was there. Lots of sediment but good earthy tones with some fruit underneath still

Not good. Either I stored it beyond its drinking window or it was never that good. Judging from the other comments, it was never great.

Pretty meh. Decent structure, but mediocre fruit. Disappointing given the price & hype.

Really nice bouquet but brutal tannins; don't think fruit enough to compensate.
Not one of my better wine buying choices.
Gary V hype strikes again

I felt like I got a great deal on this bottle but for even my price it was a bit disappointing. No fruit showing and almost no tannins. A $15 bottle.
