This was stunning. Patience rewarded. Has been sitting since 2010, and every minute of wait was worth it. Smooth, rich, balanced plum, boysenberry, and mineral notes. Perfect with grilled meats, steak.

This wine is inky purple in the glass with a nose of dark fruits, smoke and oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with blackberry, blueberry, cherry licorice, tar, Asian spices, white pepper, moist earth and an over-abundance of oak. In fact, even a 24hr decant won't dissipate the pronounced flavor of the wood. The wine has a lengthy, tannic finish, suggesting that it still has years of life. It's not a bad wine, but nowhere near as good as the wonderful 2009 and 2010 Kalen blends. At around $40 per bottle, the wine has a so/so QPR. As an aside, the label -- the head of a young stag-- is stunning.

Pepper, preserved blueberry nose. Fruit forward, mint and eucalyptus on initial palate, turning to candied cherry and cassis mid palate. Long lasting... finishing with a dare I say; candied orange peel. Incredible effort!!

Dark garnet color with a muted, sweet sweet red fruit nose. Black cherries, some cassis, highlights of red raspberry and sweet red cherry. Full-bodied fruit, moderate tannins and a long finish.

15.3 % ABV. Opaque dark garnet in the glass. Aromas of dark berry infused with some grilled meat nuances. Full bodied with some lingering chewy/ripe tannin on the palate. The palate shows similar ripe berry fruit to h nose. Nice, but probably still better in a yer or two. My last bottle though.

Right off the bat I will tell you that I think this wine needs more time. I poured through a Vinturi, which helped but it still took some time to really open up. Berries and vanilla on the nose, blue fruit on the palate. Deep red color. I'd be interested in trying it again in a year or two.

15.3% ABV. Poured through a soiree, which seemed to help it open up. Opaque, youthful dark garnet in the glass. Sweet berry and vanilla nose. Full bodied and rich with ripe concentrated black berry fruit framed with some meaty and inky qualities. Seemed to continue improving with air. Might need to buy more of this. Probably my favorite Eric Kent to-date. 92-93.

Big juicy tasty wine with age ability. Balance is my only quibble with a slight astringent note on the palate. Maybe it’ll blow off. Long finish.

Decanted over two hours and found an absolutely stunning Syrah. I'm guessing whole cluster fermentation from the unique expression.

Nice light but more medium bodied syrah, good purity of fruit but not a lot of taste or finish.
