  (VALBUENA) UPDATE: Quilceda For those of you trying to obtain this wine, please note that we are now sold out of the 2005 Quilceda Creek Cabernet at what appears to be a pretty good bargain. I am trying to get more but I'm sure the price will go up at the wholesale level. I will let everyone know if we can get a second parcel - please do not email with requests as we've had so many waiting list requests already that I'm considering throwing the whole thing out and starting over in a lottery system - I'll keep everyone updated. - Jon Rimmerman ******************** Holiday SPECIAL Dear Friends, The July 4th weekend is upon us and while I'll be knee-deep in packing boxes (unpacking from my move), I've saved a few top specials as a holiday send-off. If anyone wants to help me unpack and move furniture around, I have a few bottles of interest that may find their corks removed... 1997 Vega Sicilia "Valbuena" EXTREMELY LIMITED at this price Ok, 1997 was not the best vintage but this wine still has its fans. This parcel is from an original lot that has been cellared at 54 degrees since release and it is in perfect condition - it's as good as it gets form a provenance standpoint. This should be about the lowest price in the world at this point, even lower than in Madrid. 2002 Chateau Bellevue - St. Emilion STRICT LIMIT 6/person This is just a crazy tarriff on a parcel with perfect storage. 88pts? Who cares at this price? This is not Bellevue Lussac, Laplagnotte Bellevue, Rocher Bellevue or Bellevue Haut-Medoc - all are far lower priced than Bellevue Saint Emilion. 2005 Bernard Gripa Saint Joseph "Le Berceau" (rouge) STRICT LIMIT 6/person (the regular Saint Joseph usually sells for more than this - the Berceau is akin to his La Mouline) I've had this wine at least 3-4 times and the pure Syrah tone is really exciting. With a texture more akin to baby Hermitage, I was just offered this parcel, nearly $30/bottle less than the first time we offered it. Sometimes, the wine trade has no explanation but we will continue to pass the savings I onto you instead of taking the extra $30 profit.
