(Château Bouscassé Madiran) Alain Brumont, one of the leading growers in the Madiran region of southwest France, is uniquely adept at bringing out the charm and fruit flavor of the massive Tannat variety. This great red-wine value certainly delivers the goods if you are looking for something with a little muscle behind it. The 2003 vintage is bountiful, offering dark-cherry and blackberry notes. Rich and chewy, with a rhythm section of sweet vanillin in the background. Hot PicksJuly 2008, (See more on Sommelier Journal...)
