(Château Latour Grand Vin) Dark red violet color; sexy, lifted, graphite, tart black currant, pencil lead nose; rich, delicious, youthful, creamy textured, deep, tart black currant, espresso, mulberry palate with sweet, creamy tannins; evolving slowly; long finish
(Chateau Latour) HUGE fruit on the nose . . . cassis, red licorice, dark cherry, minerals, raspberry extract, Lots of depth to the very showy nose . . . . Amazingly sweet and concentrated with a finish that lasts a minute at least. Wow! Chalky and minerally yet intermixed with great pure fruit. Reaches down to the inner depths of the palate at the back end. Lingering note of ripe cherry and cassis. It is amazing how focused this is. It's opulent but not over the top. Restrained almost for the amount of pure material that is there. The finish is still happening. Unbeleivable. This is great wine.
(Château Latour Grand Vin) Chateau Latour Vertical with Robert Parker and Latour's Frederic Engerer: Very black red; lovely, deep blackberry nose; rich, concentrated, tight but tasty blackberry fruit merged with sweet tannins; very long finish that is somewhat tannic and dry 95+ pts.
