(NV CEDRIC BOUCHARD Inflorescence Val Vilaine) Weekend Dear Friends, A few requested re-order wines to clean up this weekend before we move on to new horizons... All are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to the posted limits. Have a great weekend everyone - - Jon Rimmerman *********************** 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spatlese (Saar) STRICT LIMIT 12/person at this price I'm not sure what is going on with the 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Spatlese but someone has obviously penned or posted a TN somewhere as we've been getting requests for it since November. We offered this wine last fall as a special and here it is again at the same price (something of a joke at this point for top-quality Spatlese with age). 2002 has always been overlooked in favor of 2001 but it's a vintage that is still considered very good to excellent and it would have received far more press if not for following in the footsteps of one of the finest overall vintages in history (similar to 2001 in Bordeaux after 2000). 2005 Chateau d'Armailhac (Pauillac) STRICT LIMIT 6/person This price for a 2005 Medoc of this caliber? This is from an original parcel in perfect condition and the wine is only hinting at what it will be a decade (or more) from now. 2005 Le Petit Mouton (Pauillac) STRICT LIMIT 3/person at this price Same Mouton family as the d'Armailhac, also at an eye-opening price for the 2005 (compare at up to $100-150+, I'm not even counting the absurd prices in NY for $200-250/bottle). Like the d'Armailhac, this is an original shipment from Mouton-Rothschild. Cedric Bouchard Inflorescence Champagne Blanc de Noirs (Val Vilaine) STRICT LIMIT 12/person This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with pristine provenance. If you enjoy a touch of fruit and fizz with your rock and minerality, this is for you... Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ8011 Bord7772 Bord7737 Champ6710
(NV INFLORESCENCE Brut BdB) Inflorescence #2 Dear Friends, I just secured a few more cases of this (or, more accurately, begged) so here you go. A number of you were shut-out the first time so please let Niki know your interest at your earliest convenience. This is a very small parcel so that's all I will say - the original offer from last month is below (for reference). NV Roses de Jeanne "Inflorescence" Val Vilaine Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne Thank you - Jon Rimmerman ***************************** (Original offer from last month): Champagne Dear Friends, I'm hopping on a plane right now so I will leave this to the fans of Inflorescence to digest - you know who you are. For everyone else, Cedric Bouchard (Roses de Jeanne) is one of the most exciting new producers not only in Champagne but in all of Europe (few will argue with this). Bouchard produced my #1 wine of 2007 (the 2002 Roses de Jeanne Le Creux d'Enfer, a 200 bottle production of rose') and tonight's wine will only add to his growing fame. Bottled without any dosage and aged in cuve, the Val Vilaine is a single-vineyard, organically produced bottling from Inflorescence - look up whatever TN's you need to and ramp up the excitement for this new rendition. From 100% Pinot Noir, this wine is power and seduction in a bottle. Enough said. There are only a few parcels of this headed to the US and those that have tried it in the past tend to horde it upon release (you can include me in that group). The 2008 Gault Millau (the most influential publication in France) just named Cedric Bouchard as the top winemaker in all of Champagne (yes, including Krug). Not bad for someone completely unknown in the US... This parcel is directly from Roses de Jeanne with perfect provenance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for individual and mono-varietal expression in the hands of a master painter: NV Roses de Jeanne "Inflorescence" Val Vilaine Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne - SOLD OUT (this is not the basic Inflorescence bottling from last year - this is a notch up) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Champ8770
