So much the better!” - Le Classement, 1999 Revue du Vin de France The Corbieres of Guilhem Durand at Chateau la Bastide is also exceptional in that it is 100% Syrah (or virtually so in most years). With the declining reputation of the name Corbieres (because of the many poor examples) we have chosen instead to market Guilhem’s fine Corbieres as “Syrah”. To quote Robert Parker’s description of one of Guilhem Durand’s vintages “a nose of jammy cassis and pepper follows to opaque purple color. Chewy and medium to full bodied with a gorgeous texture, this luscious wine is a remarkable value”. We could not agree more!
