Tasted by kfinsrud. Double decanted several hours before serving. This needs a proper swirl in a decanter to get rid of some serious reductive nose. The nose shows that classic smoky and mineral PYCM character. It's spicy and full of citrus, clearly young with white fruits. It's a bit sweeter on the palate showing a more tropical side and some weight, a more rounded vintage probably. It has got much tension and broad mouthfeel. It's quite lovely after a while and has a very strong finish. The more mineral side strikes through at the end and provides a refined finish. It can use some more time in bottle to better integrate the oak, but this is a vintage where you already can enjoy. (92 pts.) - Tasted 12/15/2023.

Tasted by kfinsrud. PnP. Having such profound memories from the last bottle about a year ago, I gave this one another try. It's still very open and tasty! The same beautiful nose and the same red-fruited, full flavour palate. It has even picked up some more depth, without getting heavy. This is some of the most light footed vintages I can remember, along with 2011 (and maybe 2014). It's such an elegant wine and confirms why it's one of my favorite producers from Piedmont.
Tasted by kfinsrud. PnP. Surprisingly very available on both the nose and the palate. On the nose you get the typical aromas; roses, cherries, tobacco, licorice and that sweet and sour fruit. On the palate there's a clean red fruited profile mixed with good acidity and tannins. This reminds me of a Burgundy! It's so smooth and drinkable, but you will notice the grip at the end. The finish is very long. This is clearly one of the best from this vintage. The wine did not shut down during the evening and even on day 2 it was fully available. So tasty, so young. It doesn't have the power of the great vintages, but this is something that can be enjoyed young and bring a smile on your face. (93 pts.) - Tasted 12/1/2024.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Double decanted and served several hours later. There is a green tinted hue on this one. Seems very young. The smell is also in the green spectre; mint, lime and pear. With more air and raised temperature, you get more seashell, seaweed and lemon. On the palate there a slighly underripe character, some greeness and a long saline finish. It gets wider with raised tempeature in the glass, more stone fruits, flowers and chalk. Perfect match with a scalloop dish. A very impressive GC that was enjoyed too young. Still it brings a smile on your face and presents a cooler side of the les Clos, probably helped by the vintage. This will be stunning in 5 years time. (93 pts.) - Tasted 5/22/2021.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Wow! (93 pts.) - Tasted 9/13/2025.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Not intended to store this bottle so long. Made only for the Norwegian market. Last vintage made (2006 - 08). This has now become a mature barbaresco. It's color is brick red with a solid brown rim. It smells of tar, roses, old wood, underbrush and balsamico. On the palate it shows medium body and length. Resolved tannins and mature fruit, towards the dried spectrum. Still a very well made wine and a bargain at the time! (89 pts.) - Tasted 3/12/2023.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Short decant (30 min.) Wonderful nose of rose petals, tobacco, leather and cherries. This has the sweet and sour smell that's unique for nebbiolo. Classic old school. On the palate there a sweet core to it, fruits of cherries and balsamic notes. Perfectly balanced acidity that lifts its mid-palate. Very elegant and pure. Resolved tannins, but with enough grip to match the food (risotto). Good length with licorice and tobacco. In a sweet spot now. (92 pts.) - Tasted 3/25/2023.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Double decanted with a proper swirl in between. Served 3 hours later. Rather dark yellow color. Made me a bit worried to start with. Color brigtens up with air. On the nose the typical tutti frutti chewing gum flavour, a tropical smell that's very appealing. Also citrus flavours and a mineral core (rocks). On the palate there's a fine energy with lots of chalk and fine sweet fruits. The finish is long and mineral driven. It's get more bold with air and the stony fruits becomes more apparent. This is a powerful Morstein and fairly intense, drinking better than any other nearby vintages at the moment. Still it was even better on day 2! More focus, more citrus, less sweetness and rubber.
Tasted by kfinsrud. Decanted 3 hours. A bit oaky on the nose, some cedar and blackcurrant underneath. Medium body and the acidity is noticeable. Ripe tannins. Lacking some fruits and punch. An edgy and rather short finish. Drying at the end. Seemed like a new world cabernet. This was day 1, disappointing performance. On day 2 it's brighter in it's expression, more fruits and more mineral palate. Still a bit drying at the end. More wood on the finish than yesterday. On day 3 it had finally arrivied at a more drinkable state and those two glasses were the best! Still a bit worried about the fruit component in this one. It will never be great, but a modest modern Bdx. Is it any point in opening up bdx bottles before they reach 20 years of age? Saving my last bottle some more years.
Tasted by kfinsrud. A short decant to get rid of some sediments and let it breathe for 1 hour. Brilliant color. Very complex nose (anise, dried roses, tar, tobacco etc.) all you want in a Barolo. Big and rich in both structure and taste, but also finely refined tannins, lifted and floral. It's so delicate and precise and clearly one of the best Barolo's I've ever experienced. The last two glasses was nothing shorter than amazing. Meaning this wine can go on for many more years, but this was sadly my last bottle. - Tasted 10/20/2024.

Tasted by kfinsrud. PnP. It's a very good effort. It lacks in complexity and depth, even at it's level. A difficult vintage for sure (frost) and probably this won't get any better. Slightly disappointing given it's price. (85 pts.) - Tasted 3/24/2023.

Tasted by kfinsrud. PnP. Pale red color. Aromatic nose with raspberries, licorice, spice, flowers (more roses than violets) and herbs. In the mouth it's silky and refined, very drinkable with it's fruity profile and full of energy. Very tasty and just like Pinot should be all about, finally a bottle from Grivot in this vintage that delivers! A delightful NSG drinking very well right now.
Tasted by kfinsrud. Decanted 2 hours. A bit cold upon serving. Some reductive notes on the nose, but with more air and higher temperature in the glass, you get lemons, allspice, flowers, butter and wet stones. On the palate this is a bit leaner and greener that what you expect, but a more stony and buttery finish roundes this nicely off. It puts on some weight at the mid palate and gets more creamy. Shows lots of depth and concentration when temperature reaches 12 degrees celsius. A lemony touch fuels the palate and the acidity gets more attention. Wonderful now.
Tasted by kfinsrud. Decanted 4 hours. Brilliant nose with cedar, vanilla, spice and matured black fruits. Medium bodied wine with plenty of dark fruits, showing good acidity and finishing off with a long aftertaste. It finally begining to show some depth and complexity. It will still require some more years to shed of some oak notes and reveling it's more elegant sides. This will be even more interesting in 2031! Sadly my last bottle ...
Tasted by kfinsrud. Decanted 1 hour. On the nose there are good flavours, there's plenty of fruit here, pleasantly in the red end of the berry spectrum. Some herbal elements, towards medicinal. Nice smell of violets, more than roses here. Reminds me of a decent Burgundian. On the palate a delicate mouthfeel with light red fruits profile. Good minerality. Smooth tannins. And a good finish. It's detailed and complex, but fully available now, tough it doesn't strike me as a typical Barolo.
Tasted by kfinsrud. PnP, kork kom ut hel, kun nederste del var gjennomtrukket. Fill: 2,3 cm. - Tasted 9/21/2024.

Tasted by kfinsrud. Decanted 30 min. Much sediments. On the nose you get the expected dried roses, leather, tobacco and anise. On the palate this wine still shows more tannins than what the nose suggested, it didn't seem so mature here. There's plenty of acidity and freshness, but a rather thin mouthfeel and a bit drying at the end, makes me wonder where this is heading. There's too much bottle variation from Roagna, so you never know! This bottle was slightly disappointing. Went well with mushroom risotto tough .. (91 pts.) - Tasted 12/7/2024.

Looses some reduction quite fast in the glass and butter, lemon, spice and some touch of oak appears. On the palate it's still very fresh and showing a more mineral side than on the nose. Fargen ble også lysere og er rubinrød i kjerne med lys murstein i kanten. Var mer brun ved åpning, sprøtt! Stor og fyldig på smak med fin syre, pent nedslipte tanniner i bakkant og lang lengde.
