Schubert Theorem Shiraz Barossa Valley – 100% Shiraz – Sourced from various sections of the Helbig Family Vineyard – Roennfeldt Road, Marananga Planted on own roots – old vines (12ft x 8ft spacing) Deep red/brown earths with eroded protrusions of crystalline quartz ranging between 272-296m above sea level.
The Schubert Theorem lies within a branch of mathematics known as ‘knot theory’. It states that any knot can be uniquely decomposed as the connected sum of prime knots. Aptly named, this wine deconstructs the Schubert family vineyard into its distinct sections, taking the finest elements of each and re-assembling to connect and enhance their strengths.
The 'The Schubert Theorem Shiraz' has a pitch-black core, which is supported by very deep and dark violet color reflections. The wine is glamorous and sparkling in the glass.
Both seductive and intense, luscious ripe blackberries, liquorice, black cherries and dark plum aromas flood the nostrils. A hint of lightly toasted cedar wood, dark chocolate, earthy notes and oriental spices mix with the generous fruit.
Wonderfully rich and powerful on the palate with a sexy, opulent mouthfeel, this red wine is as approachable as it is superbly structured. The palate is saturated with a mixture of juicy blackberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas, which are accompanied by the finest vanilla, stony mineral elements and spices.
