Producer: Champagne Joseph Perrier
The History of the House of Joseph Perrier can be traced back to the end of the 18th Century where Alexandre Perrier ran a wine business under the name Perrier & Fils. In 1825, Joseph, the son of Alexandre Perrier took charge of Perrier & Fils. He purchased a large house with chalk cellars, where he and his wife established the House of Joseph Perrier in (what was then called) Chalons-sur-Marne .
Joseph Perrier died in Chalons –sur-Mame in 1870. His grandson Gabriel Perrier, being without any heir, gave up the House of Joseph Perrier to Mr. Paul Pithois on 2nd August 1888. The House Joseph Perrier still belongs to this family and Mr.Jean-Claude Fourmon, the buyers great grandson is Chairman.
This House, one of the few located at Chalons-en-Champagne (formerly known as Chalons-sur-Marne ), possesses its own vineyards, made up of the best growths such as Cumieres, Damery and Hautvilliers. Champagne Joseph Perrier is not a large House, concentrating, as throughout its history, on making top quality wines for discerning customers. Champagne Joseph Perrier can meet a third of its requirements, which are completed by purchases of more than 20 growths from the Cote des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.
