Eight Barrel is a special selection of reserve barrels of Syrah from throughout our estate vineyard, noteworthy for their bold expression of fruit with layered and polished tannins. The 2016 Eight Barrel Syrah displays aromatics and flavors of blackberry and plum fruit, dried rosemary and lavender, mesquite smoke, and black tea spices. With rich layers and a broad mid-palate, savory nuances compliment exuberant black fruit flavors across a fleshy and smooth texture, before finishing with round tannins and hints of minerality and iron. This wine is approachable now but will cellar well.
