In 28 years we have never made a Reserve wine.

2022 was an exceptionally long, cool vintage that allowed the Pinot Noir to fully express itself. The 28 year old, close planted vineyard, is really coming into its own.

Made in the usual unhurried and ancient techniques that are hallmarks of Savaterre.
18 months in our Burgundian tight grain Chatillionaise oak that we import annually.
This limestone oak forest in Burgundy confers slow growth and hence very dense tight grain to these superb barrels. This allows our wines to evolve slowly in our cool,
damp cellars.

We originally intended to release it in March 2024 but delayed the release to allow the wine sufficient time to evolve at its own speed. We think the result is an impressive representation of Savaterre and is a wine that will continue to evolve and improve for many years. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of it!

Kep's Tasting Notes

Mid-cherry hue.
Aromas leap out of the glass constantly evolving, more fruit and the perfume than one expects. Ethereal lift that continues to evolve.
Delightful wild strawberry and red-cherry nose intermingled with a complex forest floor and white truffle complexity.

Tense yet fluid. Elegant and seamless.

Perfectly balanced with a spine of fine mouth watering acidity that draws the wine to an elegant long finish that just goes on and on.

Please decant the wine for at least an hour before enjoying.

Limit of 6 per customer. RRP $160
