Philosophy & Terroir
The marriage of California's frontier spirit, coupled with time-honored French winemaking techniques, give depth and nuance to Captūre Wines. For each of our distinctive red wines we have selected grapes from the unique terroir of our Tin Cross Vineyards estate. Situated 2,450 feet above the Alexander Valley floor in Sonoma County, our vineyards are among the highest in California.
Winemaking
With multi-generational experience from Chāteau Latour, our winemaking team understands the methods behind crafting classic Bordeaux-style wines with intense fruit from hillside vineyards harvested at peak ripeness. All of our grapes are gently hand sorted and go through extended maceration to extract optimal color and flavor. Winemakers May-Britt and Denis Malbec chose a sophisticated regime, comprised of only the best French oak for this red wine.
Winemaker Notes
Harmonie is the purest, most elegant and well-balanced Bordeaux-style blend we could craft, incorporating fruit from each block on the estate. It is a rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Harmonie offers a nose of black cherries, dark chocolate, huckleberry and roses, with ripe tannins and a minerality on the palate that reminds us why we love mountain fruit. Rich and full-bodied, we expect this to drink well at release and for up to 20 years.
Farming
Captūre's estate fruit is grown at Tin Cross Vineyards. Every vine is organically farmed and maintained to meet rigorous field specifications, a practice which yields healthier, more sustainable vines that positively contribute to the longevity of the land and the quality of the fruit produced.
