Founded in 1895 by the famous ampelograph Chrétien OBERLIN, the Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar enjoys a particularly privileged situation in the heart of the vines of Alsace, in the capital of the Alsatian wines.

Mr and Mrs Jean-Rémy HAEFFELIN manage the estate and produce high quality wines from exceptional vineyard sites in the respect and the originality of its soils.
Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar owns the Clos St Jacques, its vineyard from the Harth near the winery, as well as the prestigious Domaine des Hospices Civils Louis Pasteur de Colmar.
However, the estate is also spread out on the best hillsides of the surrounding villages where some of the most prestigious Grands Crus are cultivated :
in Eguisheim, the excellent Grand Cru Pfersigberg;
in Wintzenheim, the astonishing Grand Cru Hengst;
in Ingersheim, the surprising Grand Cru Florimont;
in Sigolsheim, the noble Grand Cru Mambourg.

The resulting diversity of the soils produces a range of wines which are out of the ordinary and provide complementary accompaniments to all sorts of dishes.
Owner of 25 hectares of vineyards, the Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar, also wine merchant, purchases its grapes from a variety of remarkable origins and turns them into wine according to tradition and modern wine technology. These wines are commercialised under the name Cellier St Jacques.
The Cellier St Jacques (The Cellar of St Jacques) was founded in 1901 by Gustave BURGER, a pioneering wine grower and founder of the Wine Grower’s Association of Alsace in 1911. In 1924, the Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar has installed in this ancient and historic wine producing property.
