Winemaker's Notes: The Hayne Petite Syrah never fails to deliver. Tightly wound at first, the wine shows classic Petite Syrah fruit and muskiness at first whiff. Blue fruits and a dark, inky dust aroma are also present and will purify with time. This head trained vineyard, planted in 1953, has softer tannins than most Petite Syrahs and is more “noble” overall; the old guard, with old money and the class to back it up. We encourage you to drink this with lamb and other fatty dishes that will help buffer the tannins in its youth.
