Tasting Notes:
Our 2012 Red Wine Blend is made with an easy-to-drink focus and a ‘kick back with a glass’ attitude. Barrel Select lets you know we carefully searched through our wines looking for the best combination of varietals to give you an enjoyable and interesting glass of wine. Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah were balanced with just the right amount of oak-not too much to overwhelm the fruit flavors. Rich aromas and flavors of ripe cherries, red plum and warm spice give way to a lingering and full finish.

Winemaking Notes:
Coming from a textbook perfect growing season followed by a seamless harvest, the fruit for our blend is top notch from prime vineyards located in northern Sonoma County. Harvested between September 19 and October 11, there was time for great development of acidity and sugar in the grapes and the resulting wine shows near perfect balance. Aging for one year in American oak barrels gave the wine some additional complexity while adding a touch of toasty oak.
