Vineyard and Winemaking
The Lauren Estate Vineyard is our inspiration to raise the quality bar higher and higher. As the vines continue to mature, we see more powerful and concentrated efforts. Planted on a unique profile of gravelly gold-ridge soils, there is remarkable purity to these wines. The 2013 Lauren is nothing short of ethereal, and in comparison to our other 2013 Chardonnays it has no equal.

The Lauren Estate is comprised of four distinct Chardonnay clones, and each clonal block is harvested at its ideal ripeness. In order to ensure the preservation of quality, we harvest at night and use refrigerated trucks to maintain the intense flavor nuances in the grapes. Primary and secondary fermentation were conducted in barrel and took nearly eight months to complete. Blended only before the final racking to bottle, each lot is scrutinized and evaluated. Lauren is aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 10 months, and then carefully racked to tank for four months to clarify and concentrate before bottling.
