To craft this wine, we isolate the Old Wente clone from blocks
on both Quail Hill and Susanna’s Vineyard sites. Considered the
“grandfather clone” of California Chardonnay, Old Wente shows
gorgeous intensity and focused acidity on both of these cool
properties. A pale straw color in the glass, aromas of fresh green
fig, Asian pear, lime and lemon crème meld with subtle coconut
tones. A nice minerality adds focus and texture on the palate
entry, balanced by bright tropical flavors and warm baking
spices. The finish is long and bright, with hints of vanilla bean.
Enjoy upon release or cellar through 2022.
