This is a gorgeous and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. A rare varietal in the Russian River Valley, this Cabernet benefits from the same goldridge and altamont soils that make the Russian River Valley such an incredible growing region for Pinot Noir. In fact, you can argue this has to be some of the best soil in the Russian River if it can succeed with Cabernet in such a cool region. Its fully ripe at 14.6% with one of the most expressive and lively noses you'll find on the north coast. With 93+- to 96-point scores from the Enthusiast and Vinous between 2013 and 2017 (if you align with Antonio Galloni and Virginie Boone's critical palates, you'll love this wine), you could put this in Napa Valley and triple its $65 tag (winery price). At $228/case, its an incredible opportunity to own one of the prettiest Cabernet's in the state and one that will age phenomenally over the next 10-15 years. Yeah, you could argue that its not the normal 80+ percent off but I wanted this one and paid asking price in a market that supported anything but. If you like energy in your Cabernet, don't miss this one - I'm not.

Deep and inky in the glass with an ultraviolet purple rim that stains the glass with iridescence. Explodes from the glass with soaring cassis and black cherry notes wrapped in sweet florals, crushed volcanic rock and red clay. With air, blueberry jam and fresh tobacco leaf join the fray. Immaculately balanced, its dances across the palate with black currant and dark chocolate haloed by tobacco notes. Fantastic!
