2020 Bodega Chacra Pinot Noir Barda

Younger vines (25 years) that are ungrafted, in addition to fruit that comes from vineyards planted in 1955, and 1932. 60% of the matured in concrete for freshness and the rest in barrels for eight months. Unfiltered and unfined with low SO2

from Chacra's youngest vineyards planted in 1990 on slightly sandy soils with ungrafted vines from massale selection yielding ~2 kilos per plant. Fermented at low temperatures in round cement tanks, with natural and indigenous yeasts.
Aged 11 months: 50% in concrete tanks and 50% in French oak barrels (15% new).
Unfiltered.

Pure, minerally and powerful, with concentrated flavors of red plum and dried raspberry, loaded with powerful meaty notes. Sandalwood accents linger on the finish, showing caressing tannins.
Its structure being rather airy and open,

Barda was conceived to be consumed while still fresh and young. Its alcohol percentage is generally low – 12 to 13 percent.
