Our single vineyard Malbec from Quintessence, now in its 5th vintage, is always an impressive wine even in its youth. Sourced from 2 unique vineyard blocks with slightly different slopes and elevations this varietal loves soaking up the heat and Red Mountain has plenty to go around. Compared to its cooler weather and higher elevation cousins in Bordeaux and Argentina, this lower elevation, warmer climate Malbec is very fruit driven and has a rich, plush tannin structure. On the aroma we get wet rocks, black berry, and sweet tobacco. The palate is rich and full—red plum, black cherry, and vanilla bean. Do as the Argentinian asaderos do and pair with all sorts of fatty cuts of meat or sit back and enjoy on its own. Drink now through 2030.
