Mindfully Made:
Farmhouse takes its name from the school house located at Green String Farm in Petaluma, California. It served as the library and study room for conscientious students from around the globe seeking to learn the Green String method of sustainable farming.

This method of “beyond sustainable” farming, was co-developed by Fred Cline who believes that study and observation of nature can lead to balanced and better farming practices. Students at Green String learned how to respect the earth and respond to the needs of their environment as they raised food that brought health to local populations. The goal was to teach students how to improve the biology of the lands that they stewarded while growing naturally healthy food.

Winemaker, Tom Gendall:
Tom believes that "if you look after the vines, the vines will look after you and produce great fruit. They will tell you what they need if you know where to look and what to look for. It's our job to interpret that information and make sure the wines achieve their very best potential."

Winemaker Notes on Fermentation & Aging:
Grapes were destemmed enroute to the press. Juice was chilled and settled for approximately two days, then racked to a temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentor. Aromatic wine yeast was added as the wine fermented at 50-55 degrees. Once dry, the wine was racked, blended and prepared for bottling.
