Reserve wines are a rarity from Seven Hills. This is our sixth RESERVE bottling in eighteen vintages, and our first reserve wine from the Red Mountain AVA. Moderate temperatures and growing season profile gave us outstanding fruit for this balanced yet powerful example of Red Mountain Cabernet. Fan trained vines on a north-facing slope with shallow soils are responsible for the core quality in this wine. An evocative nose of earth and dust, supported by ripe red fruits, with a firm palate of strength and structure. The wine was aged exclusively in the finest French Oak barrels. We employed no fining, and minimal filtration to ensure the maximal expression of Red Mountain terrior. While bolder and a bit more recalcitrant at release than our Walla Walla Valley based Reserves, expect this wine to age well for 10 to 15 years if cellared properly.
