2008 Myriad Cellars Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon ]$65
Our flagship wine from Spring Mountain exceeded our expectations in 2008. The
prolonged drought left little precious irrigation water available for the vintage which
produced very small barriers. This, in turn made a very bold rendition of this wine. A dark
opaque color profiles infused with scents of boysenberries, anise, camphor and the
requisite Spring Mountain minerlaity jump from the glass. Due to the small berry size we
kept a deft hand in the extraction process which created smooth and polished tannins
without the addition of astringent tannins. While smooth and dense on the palate, more
dark fruits come to the forefront on the palate which glide into a finish covered in
chocolate covered cherries, spice box anise and creme de cassis. Like the past renditions
of this wine, it will drink well young for those willing to look past some young and
exuberant tannin, but will further integrate over the course of 8 to 10 years.
