2008 Myriad Cellars Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon ]$75
Our second new Cabernet this year hails from the famed Beckstoffer Georges III vineyard
in Rutherford. The Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon is planted over the top of an ancient
Conn Creek riverbed produces a wine that marries superb concentration and elegant
composition. Rich currant, Black Cherry and late summer ripe blackberry notes emanate
from the glass intermixing with cedar, graphite and subtle oak tones from Darnajou
barrels. The palate is a rush of dark fruits that seamlessly fall into a finish that is smooth
and rich but also elegant at the same time. This is a wine of extraordinary purity, full
bodied intensity and richness, along with its complete integration of acidity, tannin and
oak. Drinking well with a few years of age and up to 10 years.
